Salisbury try to buy Neville Roach

BFR

Recommended Posts

As the title says Salisbury tried to buy Nev from Basingstoke, offering £7,500 which the club accepted but Nev rejected the approach. I know that Sailsbury have a new guy on the board with a fat wallet but to start paying that sort of money for players is quite a turnaround. I guess they'll have to stop referring to Eastleigh as moneybags if this sort of behaviour is repeated

I think a lot of us down here would love to know your source, BFR old pal, and how true it is.

I'd guess it must be old news, though, as I can't really see us needing to bung sums like that around in order to survive relegation now.

Also, why panic-buy right now when the close season is not far off? (A month ago it may have made sense...)

£7,500 may seem a huge sum, but that's only a year's wages for Eastleigh's (fine) substitute, Mr.Haddow, for example, so we're not "so much richer than Eastleigh", no matter what they say.

With regards to Eastleigh's Press Releases, 'Let the buyer beware!' <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

sorry, long day... (I think my Maths nostril is blocked up today.)

£7,500 is only about 10-15 weeks wages for Alex Haddow to grace the Eastleigh Subs' bench.

Well, if you look at our site and the thread "Adam Wallace" there is a rumour that he's gone...to..wait for it.... Basingstoke. But rumours abound, make love, then settle down in Dorking..... so who knows?

Please excuse Malx....he can't help it really.

I guess we have been lucky with a new director (the one who guided Winchester to the dizzy heights they had....but then lost faith in the rest of their board who would not back his ambition)

And to the guy who made the quote about our stadium, really I guess people in glass houses don't throw stones. Don't get me wrong guys, but we do at least have a half decent home to call our own.

My hopes are that you do to real soon have a fantastic new ground for us to visit. But if you look at the predictions, you'll be in our old stomping grounds next year.....the SOuthern Div, which you should walk!!

Enjoy the rest of the season....
