Flares

Recommended Posts

When I went to the game down at Eastbourne earlier this season, my friends and I were advised that setting off a flare inside a ground means that the team will get kicked out of the league. This lady certainly seemed to know what she was talking about, so I have no reason to question this fact.

However, does this rule apply to Cup competitions also, as I noticed a flare was lit during the Southampton v Man U game.

This is a very good question, Gertcha.

I'm not sure those who so vocally disapproved of the flare at Eastbourne read the General Forum, so I'm taking the liberty of moving this thread to the Football Forum.

Here's hoping this rule does not apply in Cup games, as I understand there are plans to light a flare at the Herts Senior Cup Final next month.

It seems a bit rough to kick a team out the league for one flare, you could understand it in the cup though!

Maybe flares let off along the south coast at places like Eastbourne and Southampton are exempt from this ruling!

I find it very hard to believe that the lady at Eastbourne was talking out of her gigantic ar*e as she has been a supporter for so long and has risen through the ranks from supporter to freeloader at lighning pace, she must know her stuff!
