Who would have though a year ago, when we were in the middle of our unbeaten run, that the mainstays of our team this year would be Jay Saunders and Lee Gledhill.

Jay has done a fabulous job pairing up with Macca, has proved a capable deputy centre half and is scoring goals as well.

For me though, the real hero has been Conkers, who started out almost as reserve full back to Prothers, bided his time on the bench and his patience and loyalty has paid off by cementing a regular place and proving to be our most consistent defender.

Apart from Jay starting almost every game, and playing the full 90.. think it's Jay all the way (IMHO) but there are some great efforts to be applauded by nearly all team members..! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" />

We all know that you are biased Number 8....but of course that doesn't mean that you are wrong.

I reckon Jay is a shoe in for player of the season, lets just hope that he avoids the player of the season curse unlike:

Yer, guess I am a touch biased, but who-else comes close?... He has been the most consistant player this season, and scored some vital goals..!
