Hi, I was sitting at home last night playing with my instrument and the had the idea that the club should have some kind of a bang to cheer then on. I play the trumpet amongst other instruments and am keen to play at matches. My personal specialities include ‘Ride of the Valkyries’, and the theme tune to bonanza. I will be bringing my trumpet against Bishop Stortford so I would encourage anyone else who’s musically talented to attend with their instrument and we can go from there. oh come on let's join in the carnival that is gravesend and northfleet. my daughter plays the recorder at school and say's she will come with me, sho who else will join in?

Bands at football matches are poxy beyond description. Play your trumpet at half-time when I'm in the bar, by all means, but you blow the thing near me during the match at your own peril, especially if I've been on the Newcastle Brown.

C'mon chaps, a fella wants to bring a bit of carnival spirit to the game, if only to make the atmophere more up-beat and enjoyable. This does help morale for the team when there is lots of noise from the crowd... I don't mind it personally, but if you do, then moving away from the trumpeteer would be wise... don't spoil it for everyone else..!!

Great idea forming a band, as long as they stand right in amongst the Halfway Line experts - they appreciate lots of noise and rumpus around them while they are discussing the finer points of the game and putting down everyone else in the ground who has a point of view ......

 

..... and oh yeh Neil (Drummer Boy), make sure you keep up the perpetual drumming in the same area for the whole game !

Let 'em stand next to Stadler and Waldorf the 2 grumpy senile old goats who stand in front of the club shop berating every player wearing a red shirt.

I have lost count the number of times I have told them to "Please refrain from belittling the players" or words to that effect.

I know the two "senile old goats" (in fact there is about five !), most of what they say is very tongue-in-cheek unlike the Halfway Line "pundits" who believe they really are experts !

 

And, they love the drummer boy !
