I must say, in response to Urchinett, that the facilities, and welcome from the home fans and officials, were very good. The food was pretty good too.

It is a shame that the game was not the same, else it would have been a very good day out.

But we have both had our share of troubles this season, so all the best to you Essex lot, and thanks for the hospitality!

May both our teams prosper.

Yep great hospitality but that said !

Turned up early running track around pitch. I hate these duel purpose grounds cos you cant get near the action. Most of our fans stood in the corner of one side first half and very hard to get anny enthusiam going. Thought the pitch was aweful extremely bumpy but same for same sides. Moses missed a sitter. Trego nearly gifted them a goal but otherwise it had o-o all over it except we have not had nil nil all season and won t get one me thinks. Second half our fans are stuck in the other corner. Well H look up for it but we weather the storm and look ok agaain. Thena great ball from JK gives rocky a chance and damp sqib shot. Next second he appears up the other end beats a player nicely and squares the ball to their forward who almost cocks it up and over runs it but pt brings him down(though some refs may not have given it) Off he goes five min delay while naz gets dressed and then they score. NO avalanche though we look strong and JK comes up more and Che gets stuck in and we look the best since early in the first half. Che goes on a good run and pulls the ball back with two forwards ready to pounce but it gets cleared. Nez make two great saves and the ref blows early it seemed to me.

Stood next to CK after the game for MG interview. he was very depressed but a lot of this was due to his very nasty cold and fluey thing. He kept them in the changing room for ages.

Thought the midfield did well at times but the forwards were lack lustre. Our away form is pants and we have to win 3 of our last 5 home games cos i cant see us picking up much away.

Spoke to ref afterwards and PT will get a ONE match ban in two weeks.

A very bad day considering. Full credit to their fans turning out in hats scarves and shirts like that but 501 i think not. Perhaps 300 with 35 or so gate fans. Hate those running tracks.

[color:"blue"]Agree with you there Geoff, Athletics/Foootball combined stadia are poor for Football fans I too hate them. I stood next to the dugout during the 2nd half, Chris was furious with Rocky for that miss (he kicked he drinks bottle 20 yards in fustration) & immediately called Eseyas Yhdego to come on for Rocky. Whilst he was briefing him on his role, Rocky committed that poor backpass, Trego was off & Eseyas will have to wait a little longer for his debut. One question though, why is Aaron on the bench ? Alexis had a stinker today, but when Aaron came on (about 10-15 mins left) we looked tighter at the back, and with Keister in midfield we looked better there too. Aaron's being relegated to the bench since mid January has been a waste of a solid defender.

ps

Noticed too Peter Trego came to the bench & apologised to Chris for his dismissal. Whereas Rocky ran off to the changing room ahead of Trego when he was substituted & didn't reappear during the match.

Was a pleasure to meet your fans and directors yesterday.

All the best for the rest of the season.

Incidently - if we had scored after Trego brought down the attacker - then he would have got just a yellow - the ref did delay the whistle and tried to play an advantage, but we couldn't score in time.

Good luck guys.

Well we cant do much about the running track!! I've been to far worse stadiums this season!!! And at least we've got a home ground!??!

Totally agree with the running track. We played there in the FA Cup - our Skipper Steve McKimm sprained his ankle on the kerb of the running track (having been shoved across it).
Poxy little ground... nowhere in theground do you get a vantage point more than 3' off the ground.

Rocky seems to have an attitude problem. It is not the first time he has stormed off in a sulk. The sooner he realises it is a team game the better. Agree he should be dropped to the bench for next game but have we got another 11 fit players to start? Hope we dont get any more illnesses/injuries before sat as the Carshalton game is far more important than Crawley. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/attentat.gif" alt="" />

At last someone agrees with my thoughts about Rocky. I echo the above post and add that i.m.o. he wanders around believing he is above every-one else and that this class of football seems to be a bit below him. He often takes one too many touches and never seems to be positive enough for my liking.

Before those that think he cant do no wrong have a go back and tell me and others to lay off him then sorry but he does bring it upon himself. If he looks in to this forum then I hope he reads these posts and that it shakes him up.

When he was denied a penalty kick at home the other week having grabbed the ball he went straight into the changing rooms after the game whilst the other players took the applause. He has scored some good goals but the misses are now outweighing those by a long way. He needs to buck up i.m.o.and as the above post says, start playing as a team member again and be more positive when he gets those simple scoring chances. He does play some good balls into others, thats not to be denied but he is there as a striker and his misses, more than anyone elses, are denying us points.
