Slough Town v Chelmsford City: MATCH THREAD

Definitely need a left sided player or Steer to come back soon, as, in my eyes, Mike Murphy is not the ideal solution to that problem. But I think the priority is getting in a centre-back, which I would assume Eddie is looking at very hard. At least then we'd have some competition in that area, and Hodgey can get back where we need him.

True but get in a left wing back (or get Danny fit) and Smurf 1 goes to centre half and it is less of a problem. It is unfortunate that Gyoury and Danish both left due to lack of opportunity just before we needed them.

Yep that's the problem, both of them left at almost the same time. If we are to play 3-5-2/5-3-2 though we surely need five players who can play centre-back in the squad - if you were to include Hodges in that as an emergency, I think we need one more. I don't know if there are too many decent left-wingers available at the moment, I guess that's something Eddie's keeping track of.

Agree (again) ideally we need two more centre halfs for cover and competition. What is going on with Loegrove? Surely if he is good enough he should be in and about the squad.

Your always moaning Roy, are you going to be there Friday, maybe have a curry after.

Good to see our strikers have started scoring again, 2 for Jolly 1 for Beckford.

Looking forward to a scrappy game as both teams want to secure prem footie for next year.

If you boys can,t decide where to play Hodgey, leave him out as we can't have him scuffing another one can we?

Dont' remember moaning, thought I was entitled to my view on the game? Just seems pointless sticking to a system that employs your best forward at the back?

My point, Roy, is that everyone is blatantly aware that playing Hodgey at the back is not ideal but I haven't heard anyone say what the solution is given the players we currently have at our disposal.

May have a point Nathan, playing away I think that Sam Shepherd may be a better alternative to keep things tight away and give us a good result for the home tie.

Wednesday's capital league match may be very important to us. Danny Steer and Ross Weatherstone should start, so I guess if they do well they will be in the squad for the Wealdstone game, giving Eddie options with Hodges and Mike Murph.

steve,

i agree might be interesting pairing those two up...cann has looked promising...i just get the feeling he's used to a lower level of football and has been used to having a lot of space previously which the teams in this league won't let him have....

having said that i may be entirely wrong, i've only seen him play a couple of times and any new exciting player is always going to be a bonus
