why do we only get fixtures a month at a time

Largely due to the difficulties in pitch availability for some clubs at this level.

 

The most obvious one is where I believe it is still the case that Brimsdown only get their fixtures a month at a time? Thus the league have to wait for those to be published before Enfield can have their fixtures, and there is the knock-on effect with the rest of the league.

 

I'm sure we'd all like to have a full season's fixtures produced at the start of August, but it might cause chaos throughout the season with so many fixtures having to be changed. If there were 20 or more sides in the league there might be no option but to publish the fixtures in full, but at the moment it's as good a system as any.

 

There was a full fixture programme published before the start of the 1995-96 season, but it was scrapped almost immediately!

Also not forgetting Barkingside,Eton manor,Apsa, also have shared facilities and with clubs of several different leagues,

In each of those cases they do at least share with clubs who have their fixtures arranged long-term. There would still be many re-arrangements of their fixtures due to their landlords having priority, but that wouldn't be such a problem for the league as a whole if there weren't such a high proportion of clubs with restricted access to their pitch! Even Stansted have to work around the cricket season.
