Whats going on ??

So we have plans to reinstate HP to a very basic requirement. In other words just putting it back to how it was before certain clever dicks decided to demolish it.With of course the lack of incentive to really do well on the pitch, because if we were in the running for promotion, what happens then.Forget about all the hotels etc, etc, these will never happen. So where does the club go then. Now the icing on the cake,we have some crackpot scheme about some sort, of as yet unclear artificial surface. We apparently will be the first in the country to have one . In other words it is unproven!! The club are expecting all and sundry to support them on their return to HP,but there has got to be real hope for something to aim for and I mean on the field, not lining the pockets of cerain businessmen!! The club also wants would be advertisers to get involved, again long term for what. One of the attractions for advertisers especially in local football,is the hope of FA cup glory, again uncertain because in KPs own words we would not be allowed to play in this competition on this surface, we would have to play away.AGAIN I ASK, WHAT REAL HOPE IS THERE FOR SUPPORTERS WHEN IT IS NOT CERTAIN WE WOULD BE ALLOWED PROMOTION IF EARNT,and KNOWING ALL FA CUP MATCHES WOULD BE PLAYED AWAY.No I am sorry KP IMO you have again got it completly wrong. Also if the money is available for this pie in the sky playing surface, why for F***S sake is it not spent on at least clearing HP, because that is going to have to be cleared by the club whatever happens.Does any one agree with me or am I the one who has got it wrong!!!

Artifical Pitch is merely a media fad, as proven with Kent onlines continued coverage of the situation. In reality its not what the fans want, we want as many games at HDP as possible, hell, we've waited long enough

I dont agree with anon about the hotel. GL will fight this all the way. If by the time the next local election labour are not back then I think we can expect football to go out of thanet. Dont threat though guys. Im talking st Nicholas or Richborough which is out of SE's control. I believe GL owns land at richborough and that has already been offered to KP but he wants to try and get it at HP. I know we dont care about Ramsgate but what about if they dont get planning permission if they go up. Southwood can at best only be used for Ryman football div1. Take Margate out of thanet with Ramsgate and give SE a good up yours. Oh yeah, at the meeting with MISA and MFC officials a few weeks ago, a relocation was suggested if within the next 6 years GL and KP have no joy. The fact remains guys that SE has only suggested that we have a capacity of 3000 and i believe we need double that to go into the conference. SE still has us screwed at the moment but we will have the last laugh.

Up the gate!

SE is a pisspot carpet salesman dealing with the big boys.Loosing dreamland and this pie in the sky Turner center. Has turned people against the council. We are a seaside resort, fun park, amusments, day trippers thats all we can hope to attract. Not people wanting to see stuffed cows wake up t.d.c. Bring back the good old days. Save our pockets dont line yours.

yes but this would be only for the next two years ifit gose ahead the new owners want to see it as houses and a hotel with some sort of leisure. anouther thing is that he reportedly got £20m(less than the owner of astrix and southend's parks offered) for the site of wich he will still own 40% so he will see the profits froom the sales of the houses and hotel revenue. goddon also said that the town didnt want or need dreamland as it is a thing of the past.(thats why blackpool still have pleasure beach which is very sucsesful)

This now makes sence the local council dont want MFC to make a hotel, because they (TDC) who JG is pocket with, want to be part of the dreamland devlopement with the hotel, and if there was 1 already at HDP it would be unfisable so now we know why the council av been total tossers towards MFC. i dont know about you but i want dreamland as a themepark as does everyone else i know. we dont need a council estate built there.

I have not got any idea how to go about it. But I believe there should be a full open enquiry into developement decisions by the council, because imo every thing stinks At the end of the day it does not matter what any one individual thinks the area needs,in the final equation,it is down to the council as the planning authority to have the final say as to what happens,ie the Dreamland site ,there has got to be change of use etc, they only have to say no.!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

You really do seem to be suffering with the Council from Hell.

First your ground fiasco, then the unwanted Turner Centre, now some crooked Councillors wants to sell off Dreamland for Council Houses, which I am sure they will have a vested interest in. Highly reccomend you vote the other lot in at election time.

Good luck.
