This is in no way a pop or a "rub your nose in it" post.

 

After some of your players have left I have had the chance to view them in shall we say "lesser teams" such as H&W and Thurrock.

 

I must say I was in no way impressed with either Caskey and Shipp. I know they could both strike a free-kick and a pen but where they that god of for you (as I never see them play for you).

 

I get the feeling that in a team with runners and water carriers they could be affective, but in struggling teams not so much so.

 

I think the best player for us that we got from you in Johnny Martin, he is pure class and I think he will move up a level or two if he keeps playing the way he is. HAs pace strength, scores a bag load pure class.

Caskey worked hard and showed experience in encouraging others, obviously something missing or he would still be playing at a higher standard.

Shippy in my opinion was lazy, although he scored some goals, won't be missed.

Johnny Martin was class and I could never understand why Steve Clark was picked before JM. Ashley Bayes is the real gem that we lost.

Well his celebration of Grays' third goal on Saturday left a little to be desired.

 

I know nut nut is passionate, but he should have shown some common sense.

 

He went mad, running up to the touchline, ridiculous. Its not as if we were giving him any stick.

You have to put into perspective the team as a whole. Caskey, at times looked a class act as you would expect given the level he's played at. Give him room and he would punish you with his passing etc. I remember Bognor coming to BA and basically crowding him out. You can't really judge him playing for H&A, totally different setup to Hx , he also had players at Hx who did a lot of his running for him, his waistline was not the best!!!

As for Shippy, well I never really rated him at Dagenham and 2 b fair before the fall he was only a squad player, but credit where credit is due, the guy worked his socks off for the cause, plenty of goals before departing to Thurrock, so nothing but respect for him. He deserves a bit of success in the latter stages of his career far more than that [****!!****] plying his trade up front for Grays now!!

Westy can have his bit of fun now, reckon he'll be booted out at Grays when they're in NC next season. Stimpson's no mug, he'll know Westy will be struggling. Wouldn't it be great to see him back facing us at BA next season, you can bet th arrogance will be long gone then...
