Mal - are you brave enough to tell him he was wrong to hit a Slough player?

If he had hit a player then yes, but he didn't hit anyone he just grabbed him.

It's not so much what he did but the fact that he'd run 30 yards to do it! If a player is caught up in an incident in the heat of the moment there's almost a case of mitigating circumstances. Not that thick t**t though. He'd have run half the length of the pitch if he'd had to just to throw his weight around and look where it got him. He's a bloody liability.

He didn't run 30 yards to grab a player. He ran up to the referee and was then pushed, grabbed and head butted. The evidence is there for all to see. Just take a look at the cut above his eye and the blood on his shirt.

So now you're suggesting that the referee pushed, grabbed and head butted Jarvis? Christ you're full of [****!!****]!

Lets see what the papers say eh as they had a good view from the stand i bet.

Presumably the Slough Observer will say that it was a clear red card after an unnecessary reaction to a foul and that Slough deserved the victory. Likewise the Windsor Observer will probably say that despite extreme provocation the referee misconstrued Jarvis' attmept to shake Seedel's hand and unjustly sent him off and despite being much the better team Windsor were robbed of victory.

Or are you expecting entirely impartial views from the press?

hmm...perhaps i was putting to much faith into our press!

Put really the people in that area of the ground would of had the best view...hopefully they will tell the truth what ever that may be.

Or perhaps you could just rely on the decision of the impartial ref and his assistant.

To be perfectly honest I could not tell you exactly what happened in the melee prior to the main incident. But I know for a fact the Jarvis marched over from at least 25 yards away to get involved and then raised hands into the throat/head of Matt Seedel. He can't really have any complaints and you would have thought with all his experience of being sent off he would have just walked when sent off.

Mal i thought you knew the rules. For any player to raise his hands to an opponent is an automatic sending off. If he grabbed him he raised his hands to him. That was the 4th or 5th time Jarvis had run 30 yard to an incident that had nothing to do with him. He also kept going to the ref when he was lecturing or cautioning a player. He may be captain but he has no right to interfere with the refs administration of the game. From where we were on the far side it also sounded like he called the ref a C**t but I think the No4 got the warning for that.

Obviously everything in the Melee was the wrong side of the ground for me to see clearly, but the linesman was perfectly placed, AND he indicated his desire to talk to the ref long before the general handbags.

I have never questioed the fact that he should have been sent off, just that he wasn't the only one justified to be.

£500pw for a player who is suspended for as many games as he plays. Good business that

Love to know how you came up with that figure!

What was it think of a number and multiply by 10!!

Dean Clark signed (briefly) for Windsor, was said to be on £500pw from a reliable source, silly money. Clark leaves. Soon afterwards Jarvis signed from Hampton with Hampton people in the know saying that the amount offered to Jarvis was silly money. Its not very scientific I know but I wouldn't be surprised if the real figure is not far off. After all, Windsor must have offered something good to prize the captain of a team doing pretty well to up and leave them for a relegation threatened side with smaller crowds.

Anyway, what is wrong with plucking numbers from the sky. You randomly decided that Matt Seedel clattered into Chuck for Slough's second goal on Tuesday (check your report) when the only player near Chuck was Matt Murphy.

You're quite right, Mal - your player who brought down Seedal when clean through on goal should have gone too.

(Edited to add that we won 3-1 and Jarvis got red carded. The world is a truly wonderful place! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> )
