I don't think anybody was ever going to score tonight and in the end a penalty shoot out with Crawley winning 5-4 was all that separated the two sides. (Neil Midgley missing his kick)

 

We played quite well at times. Defence looked solid and in the first half we created plenty of chances. Junior missed a couple and Mario had a couple of good shots. Steve Burton hit a post.

 

Thought we lost a bit of impetus once Minton and Noto went off but Charlie Mapes could have put one over on his old club but saw his header brilliantly saved by the keeper.

 

We mostly dominated but couldn't take our chances. Crawley looked dangerous on the break and Opinel was really impressive for them.

 

Couldn't fault the spirit or determination. Ollie and J.K gave it everything tonight and Steve Burton had a decent game.

 

Don't think we'll be too upset that we're out of this competition and in fact a few players may have played themselves into Jeff's thoughts for Friday especially Mario, J.K and Ollie

Is that correct? See from the line up it was Smithy and Sterling at the back, but who else made up the defence? Midgely? Also noticed no other defenders were named on the bench.

yep sedgemore played centre half with smithy to his right and dom on the left

He was superb. Was always shouting encouragement at the players and didn't put a foot wrong all game.

Now we are playing Sedgemore in defence - AND he did a great job. If Ash was in goal, why didn't Potter play up front with Lee <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

 

I just don't get it any more - this pick the squad milarkey is more [****!!****] up than the bloke who wrote the Magic Roundabout.
