hmmmmm.... wonder what everyone is thinking. It certainly was a come down from Saturday wasn't it? When i heard the team i thought DAish was resting players for saturday, but then i thought it is a league match, we do still need points so why would he do that? Cant comment on their second goal, blinked at the wrong moment. The offside which ruled ours out though was never off. He was in an offside position but then came back into an onside position when the ball was played. You could see that. Gledhill played well, jay played alright and Pinno was giving 100% but other than that I was very disappoionted. Also, why on SAturday when we were playing football we took the team apart and the game flowed, but today we were constantly looking long again. Interesting decision to not start Macca, is he carrying a knock? Sigere started ok but looked to tire very easily in the 2nd half, some of the time he wasn't even challenging the high balls, and was walking up to the keeper to make him pick it up? Is this the sort of effort you want from a Fleet player. Sorry to kind of single him out there, but that's what i noticed. Hope we play well on Saturday, see you all there.

The Lines man (if you can call him that) was a disgrace tonight! Even if the first pass (for their second goal) was not off side (which it was by several yards), then second pass definitely was! The lineman’s seemed not to know the offside rule at all until half time, then he seemed to read the rule book and decided to side on the side of caution the second half by giving most Fleet attacks offside. Very, very suspicious.

No it wasn't because the player he passed to was behind tha ball.

Ok, I'll give you that! I was told it was offside by the bloke next to me. (I was busy shouting at the linesman at the time!)

If we were being picky to, forgot to mention this in preveious post, there was a blatant shove in the back of Gledhill or Saunders or whoever it was in the build up to their last goal, neither ref nor lino saw it. But hey we were well beaten on the night by 3 to 0. They're not 2nd for nothing.

Definite push on Saunders for the third. Three-nil flattered them - they were good, quick and strong and deserved their win, but didn't really create an awful lot. They were rubbish last year, but a totally different team this time around!

Not surprised nobody knows the offside law.........It is changed every season......And Septic Bladder is about to change it again..........Funny how it worked perfectly for all those years!

As somebody mentioned above not sure why Daish changed a side that had been winning, and on Saturday had won convincingly(albeit against comparatively poor opposition). I thought we were asleep for the first goal..the second goal was offside and there was a blatent foul in the build up to their third! Couldn't really see if our disallowed goal was offside or not.Overall i thought Halifax weren't a bad side, they had some nippy strikers who seemed to be able to split open our defense with their darting runs all too easily. Wasn't keen on the ref either, even if some of his decisions did benefit us,e.g bunces blatent shoulder barge-thingmajigbob(and yes that is the technical term!) on one of their players resulting in us getting a free kick!

They did us fair and square in my opinion.

Faster, fitter and generally better than us - league position does not lie.

Regardless of whether their second was offside or not, if you have all outfield players that near to each other high up the pitch, you're asking for it really?

If we could have nicked one back 5 - 10 minutes either side of half time then who knows what might have happened.

Need to forget this one and move onto BS on Saturday.

Come on you reds!

Also surprised to see the formation without, Lovell, McKimm, McArthy and Manny (who was fit..)

Their fisrt goal was purely down to pace, we simply couldn't catch him (shows the difference between full time players v part timers..)

The second was at least 2 yards off-side, I was adjacent to the back four and we all screamed off-side but the twat of a lino kept the flag down.

Third was very 'iffy', we should of clawed a free kick from 'that push' on Jay.

Scoreline definately didn't do us justice, we were robbed of a perfectly valid goal, which could of spun the game around. We got nothing from the officials who were all for Halifax, especially that kin' lino, and the not so sure Ref, who blew very late on some very obvious decisions... Drury was unlucky not to be awarded play on when he was fouled, that attack was developing into something exciting, but the Ref stopped play and gave a free kick.. too late in my opinion.

At least we're in 14th, what with Burton missing out on valuable points, and hats off to Halifax, they capitalised on the chances and put them away, proof indeed that they deserve to be in 2nd place.. Just wished we had impartial officials, who could actually see the same game we did..!!!

I was in line with the Drury incident (in my new temporary standing place!) and I think that the ref gave the right decision not to play the advantage.

Drury looked up at him looking for the free kick for an earlier challenge and then realised that the pass was on.

The ref saw the look and gave the decision.

This just got Drury wound up and he was turning into an obnoxious little so and so (sorry Fleetbabe!) before he got subbed.

Also, their player Howell had him well and truly under control, was goading him and he was falling for it.

From where I was sitting Drury had his back to me so I didn't notice the 'look' he gave to the Ref..

You gotta admit though Jeff, the 2nd and 3rd Fax goals were 'iffy', and our goal was perfectly legitimate..?!?

As an aside, I thought Matt Lovell made a big difference when he came on, created chances and out-paced the opposition on the wing. Shame Siggy was no-good in the air, think we play better when we keep the ball low.. should of adopted that style from the start, it's a formula that worked and it took Scarboro' apart on Sat.

It's easy to criticise from the stalls, but when your confidence is riding high, a knock like this is a bitter pill to swallow..

I was up the wrong end of the pitch for those goals so did not have the best view of any of them.

We were slow close together in the middle of the pitch that we were asking to be sprung - offside or not.

Segere took ours well I thought.

Push on Jay for the third.

Don't you just hate it when servers go down when you're in the middle of talking about football????

Re the line up.

I was surprised. I can't imagine Liam chose to drop the 2 Macs on form. My feeling is that he really wants to win the Trophy & so rested certain players that he felt would be key to that. I reckon Manny would be a league player if he wasn't carrying an injury & every time he plays it's risking his fitness to play in the next match. I don't think Liam consciously sacrificed last night's match, but believed that the team we put out would be good enough to contain Halifax & grind out at least a draw. And to be honest, it would have done against most teams. We didn't exactly play 2nd string people did we?

I'd guess Halifax's pace, organisation & confidence in front of goal took the management by surprise, just as much as it did the rest of us. They looked like one of those rare teams we meet in the Conference who you know are just too good. I reckon at the moment they're probably the best in the league. Don't think I've seen better since Yeovil a couple of seasons back.

Well this was my first fleet game for a little while and I was disappointed. Yet again the officials seemed to play a prominent part in the outcome of the game. I don't have any problem admitting we were beaten by a better team, but their second goal was so far off-side initially that it was almost unbelievable. Then the off-side decision against Sigere, 10 minutes from time was even worse and could have put pressure on Halifax had the goal stood. All the fans ask from the officials is consistently, and that linesman was so one sided it did make you wonder!!!! As for Halifax, I have no respect for them, all they did was hoof the ball up the park for their speedy strikers to chase, rubbish to watch but effective I know, as I recall Aldershot doing that to us last season. And to top my night, about 2 minutes from half-time, the Halifax captain, a Mr Bushell, turns round to our section of the crowd and tells someone 'to shut up you Knobhead'. Not what you expect from a player, I asked a steward to report it to the referee but he obviously thinks it is ok for players to abuse fans. We pay money to offer our comments, they get paid to play football, not that Halifax did much of that. My rant is over!!!!

I thought Halifax were a very good side, too big, strong and particularly fast for us.

I am sure the side was selected with one eye on Saturdays match but I don't think it made that much difference they were going to take three points whoever we put out.

Yes Siggy's goal should have stood, but overall they were good value for the win.

If Halifax were as convincing as you seem to think, then surely they would of beat us without the aid of their 'in-house' officials..?!!

We WERE robbed, if our goal stood, if the lino called the offside (for the 2nd), and if we got the decision at the end when Jay was pulled/pushed (for the 3rd), we could of nicked a point.. now that would of been fair..!

But, as I said earlier, hats of to the Fax, they took the chances and it paid off (as in paid off the officials..)... I'm not bitter, honest..!

No-one's denying that. But the first half in terms of opportunities and play was even, and nothing at all happened in the second-half. You were very good and never in danger of dropping the three points, but we weren't as outclassed as the scoreline suggests.
