Uncle Urchin

west was and is an enigma...undoubted talent and on his day a very dangerous centre forward...not a half bad centre back either...but he spoiled it with his greedy grabbing all the time..more more more was Westy's motto...fair enough one would say...we all want more but there were issues not public knowledge that left a bad taste in one's mouth...

a good player for sure but not...in my opinion... among the REAL urchins who fought for every blade of grass and lived every second of every game with their hearts..

anyone remember crippsy...he was a real urchin..as was marso and joppo...

Player I would like to see back is Barrie Fox (no, not the ref). Think he's at Aveley now? Really rated him and thought he could easily have made the step up.

Crippsy was a good little player. Always thought he could have made the step up too.

As you said, Joppo too. Never, got beaten by his man. Consistent as you like.

Crippsy was good ! A nice chap and a top Young Player !

Speaking of young players Liked Findlay and Charlie Taylor but their heads didn't seem right also Nathen Elder now he was a great prospect !

Anyone from other non league sides, I have heard good things about a former Team mate of mine (at Junior school)called Matt Game.

No One can doubt the talents of DJ Campbell also like Eugene Offori (spelling ?) I know he plays for Grays but Thurgood should be playing league football.

Crippsy played for England Youths against N.Ireland, turned many a defender inside out in the Ryman Div 3 days, was always first in the dressing room and first out to get warmed up.

At away games, although he lived at Canning Town, was always very early for the coach. Mum and dad also played their part in various ways for the club, a superb man and one that I saw come through the ranks, knew all the tricks as well for a striker, a lot of good memories, cheers Craig gone but not forgotten!
