who should have stayed

Of those who were there at the end of the season - Daniel Gay, Jon Keeling, Mark Graham, Rob Martin, Ollie Adedeji. And I don't know why he let him go, but Jude Sterling as well.

Plus of course Scott, the Doog, Jamie, Adam, Tony Maynard and Sam Williams.

Sorry to intrude chaps, but I was having a quick browse of your forum and noticed you were talking about Vinny.

We had him over at Romford for the 97/98 season and he was superb, scoring 45 goals in 44 games.

I see he is doing the business for East Thurrock and I am sure he would hack it in the Conference South.

Vinnie John

John Martin

John Keeling

Danny Kerrigan

Definates that I can think of at the moment....they would have all stuck by us and were quality (JM should have been shown more loyalty, he was Play of the season for nothing)

Speaking of player of the season, are we gonna do it this season seeing as we've had so many?

don't totally agree with that...steve clarke was fast but jonny keeling was far far better all round and could cross the ball......

bays much better than gay..agreed...

searle was better than kerrigan through experience but kerri would have made a good sub for him...

Oliie was and still is as good as you can get..

I would have also kept vinnie...purser was excellent but I couldn't really see the fuss about KJ....

elam and worms would have kept graham out of the team permanently

It is a difficult question and we should really just look at what we have now.

We all have fond memories of Vinny, JK, Danny Gay and the others who brought us all the glory in the past.

So come on Tony bring in some new heros, who we can cheer about.

Like most people, would loved to have seen JK stay but at the time both parties had different agendas so was not really possible.

Of course Ollie, Vinny and Danny Kerrigan too.

Also I feel that Andrew Martin is a huge waste of talent. He was brilliant but always seems to fall out with the wrong people. Would love to see him back though.

Would have to be Vinny. Can't believe he is playing at East Thurrock, he could easily do a job at this level, what a waste!

Don't agree about Andrew Martin, yes a huge waste of talent, but he never looked interested in my opinion. Far too many games passed him by, lazy so and so in my view. From what I saw of him I'm amazed that he played Wales U-21 and for Palace!

Was very sad to see JK go.

Also thought Kerrigan was very solid and consistant. Surely we must be a more attractive to Vinnie than East Thurrock.

I think we could do with a big man upfront. Whilst the new team gels the football isn't going to be pretty and we need someone upfront with real presence.
