It makes me wonder where the next generation of saints players are coming from?

The introduction of players such as Chris Seeby, Greg Deacon, Ricky Perks etc. to the first team is just a by-product of both a successful Reserve team and, in the case of Yoof FC, a close association with an established, thriving, local youth football club. There are many other good reasons.

 

Caretaker can see that but he is, of course, an Official at Yoof FC. I can see that and I have no axe to grind.

 

From the overwhelming silence on here and at Clarence Park, perhaps we are both wrong.

 

With apologies for appearing to close with a profound statement, I do believe that in many areas, people get what they deserve. As I see it, that is, increasingly, the case at Clarence Park. I can't be bothered any more, either.

In my opinion the club may suffer because of the decision not to have a successful reserve side feeding the first team squad.If the club is struggling financially surely bringing players through the ranks is the way forward.

Be bothered clubs like the saints need fans like you to bring up these issues.

The "PASE" scheme will be in its third year next season so there should be around 45 boys on the course. Should be able to field two teams from that I would have thought, if not there will be a lot of spare players every Wednesday.

 

They actually drew 2 - 2 with Whitton United, who are supposed to have associations with Ipswich Town. Having seen the game I find that hard to believe although they were much younger than our boys so I will reserve judgement.

 

Any one (apart from me) been to see any of these games ??? Any one been to see the coaching in practice ??? Any one been to the college to see the course in action ???

 

If this is the future of your club, you should all really make the effort, then you will be able to discuss such issues from an informed position. Bit difficult to make any worthwhile comment if you only rely on the opinions of others.
