Reserves tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Word reaches me that we will have a strong team out tomorrow night as most of the first team will be playing.

Three of the academy starlets will be in the squad in the shape of Colin 'S Club' Cattermole, Leigh Wooldridge and Paul Doonan whilst Liam George will make his debut in our colours. Chris Zoricich is suspended and Scott Cousins has received a four match ban following his dismissal at Basingstoke which starts this Saturday.

Hi Rob.

How did t'lads get on last night at Redbridge?

Strong side, eh? Redbridge are clearly in trouble and if Colin Lippiatt took the opportunity to have most of the 1st team blow away the cobwebs after 2 weeks or more without a game, they will have done well to keep us in single figures, I imagine. It should help our goal difference.

Line-up and scorers anyone?

I've just heard. The Reserves lost 7-0 at Redbridge last night.

The team was: Daryl White, James Brewer, Nick Crowther, Neil Hughes, Greg Hester (Colin Cattermole), Steve Hawes, Kurtis Patterson, Josh Godden, Joe Meija, Mark Savory, Gary Davies (Paul Doonan).

Well done to those 13 from me.

Hi Rob.

Don't worry about the "Word reaches me that we will have a strong team out tomorrow night as most of the first team will be playing." stuff.

'Tomorrow's fish and chip wrapping' as they used to say before the chap what owns the internet came along. The saying doesn't quite work now, of course, but you know what I mean. You get the drift. Nobody remembers that kind of thing, anyway. Well. Apart from the all time classic "Richard Goddard signs and commits his future to the Saints.", of course. Nobody will forget that one. Priceless.

Back to the point. That hack what does the match reports for the Observer used to submit the occasional report on the Reserves to you chaps for the web-site thingy. Has he done one for last night?

Oh yes, Webbo. Mine has just arrived. Depressing indeed. No positive spin there, more's the pity.

Best not print it on the web-site, Webbo. That is just the kind of negative stuff that could prevent even 50 supporters from coming to Clarence Park, and will cost the club £12,000 in a season.

It's good to see so many members of Yoof FC helping out, anyway. Hopefully normal relations have been restored in that direction.

Hi AFF

Check the dates - the 'strong side' message referred to the magnificent 4-4 draw against Stortford.

Well done to all of those who turned out last night, the first team squad is down to the bare bones again for Saturday so they couldn't be risked.

Good news is Gary Elphick is with us until the end of the season, then returns to Brighton on contract.

and a depressing read it is too

Only to be expected really ........ but surely it cant be that bad.

Can we read the report or is it just for the privileged few ?

AFF ... nothing has changed since my last post regarding the involvement of City Youth FC next season (as far as I am aware) but I understand that the "Accademy" team will not be playing in the midweek league now they will still play in the Nationwide Conference College League (or whatever it is called) as they currently do on a Wednesday afternoon.

I am discussing other options for City Youth FC on this front.
