95 hours and counting!!...

87 hours - bloody hell, I'm getting good at this! I'm not really even missing the booze anymore.

 

My wife's got a couple of friends over tomorrow evening for a girlie wine, popcorn and Bridget Jones-type night, so as long as I hide myself away upstairs and write a song or something, I'll be fine.

 

Got Spurs with Penders on Saturday - I predict we'll tear Man Citeh apart, 6-0 maybe? (we've been the best side consistently in our last three games and haven't scored a single goal, so we're just about ready to wallop someone!) - and I've already told him I won't be drinking. He said not drinking is a mug's game. He may have a point.

 

Sunday will be a breeze.

day 8 begins.. 14st 13lbs yesterday 5 pounds in a week , i feel good and have eaten more fresh fruit n veg than i normally do in a year.. in fact i am also eating loads more.. once you get over the intial shock of not eating crap its actually quite easy..

then of course you become a full on jamie oliver food snob.. you see someone eating a crappy fry up and you feel like running over and shouting 'how can you put that crap in your body man!!' .. the thought of a chicken nugget makes you gag etc etc ..

alos made a new blend last night.. mango, pineapple, bananna, white grapes and a splash of peach bio yougurt and honey.. i think its my best yet!

Mango? Good fking shout! Do they sell that in Morrison's, Laz?

 

Haven't dared weigh myself yet - I was 16st 2lb (I think) two weeks ago today. I'll stick myself on the scales again tonight. Unfortunately, I ended up in Pizza Hut yesterday lunchtime, though I redeem myself slightly by having a diet coke instead of my usual three Stellas.

 

Soup and bread for dinner last night though, and the same again today.

I felt like absolute crap yesterday.

 

It's as though now I've stopped drinking, I've got 15 years' worth of common colds coming out on me, that I've been staving off with alcohol all that time.

 

Had to go home at 4pm yesterday and straight to bed.

 

My smoothies are getting progressively worse too. The texture of them is grim. I think I'm putting in too many 'dry' fruits like pears, apples and mangoes.

 

I may be putting in too much of a variety too.

 

Was thinking I'd try one tonight with orange juice instead of yoghurt, then blend in some strawberries, bananas and raspberries. The consistency would be quite runny, but surely I can't fail?

 

I've noticed I'm topping up my phone a lot less now I'm not drinking too. I used to send about 60-odd drunken text messages a day. Now, with Laz and myself not drinking, we rarely even hear from one another!

 

111 hours.
