Presentation At The Centre This Evening

I think the Sports Awards are being held at the Centre on Farnham Road this evening at which a couple of the Slough staff are due to receive awards. Should be interesting to hear if we've won anything this year!

When you say 'Slough staff', I assume you mean STFC staff - and 'due to receive awards' meaning you think it's likely they will? So do you know if any representatives of the club going along?

I would have thought Eddie Denton and Glen Harris will be there as a minimum and yes, I did mean STFC staff <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I would think that if the awards were tonight, the council might have managed to publicise it.

I also voted for a number of the STFC squad to get various awards, and in the acknowledging e mail, I seem to remember something being said about inviting people who voted for the winners to come to the awards. As I've heard nothing, I might be inclined to assume its not happening yet.

 

If it is, then the council are hardly giving it any publicity, but that wouldn't surprise me.

Ted, it was invite only so there wasn't much need to publicise it. Given I was a little strong with my use of the English language when voting, I wasn't entirely surprised that I did not receive an invitation

It might have been nice for all those nominated to have got some publicity, after all this administration always used to complain about things being done behind closed doors.As soon as they get in power, they are straight behind the closed doors.

I too suspect my invite went down the chute, for nominating Richard Stokes for the Special category of something like "person who has had most affect......", citing his attempts to close down the club.
