Fair play to the Slough fans who were at our game at Kingstonian on Saturday to watch Alex Haddow. Unfortunatley he only got on in the 2nd half. I was amazed to see you there, but after reading Alex's message on your forum and the fans responses, I realise I shouldn't have been. It is a refershing change to see that level of respect for a player after he has left. It say's alot about both Alex and the Slough fans.

Thanks for the acknowledgement although one of your supporters looked a bit indignant when it became apparent we wanted K's to win!

 

We weren't just there to see Alex although when we went through the fixtures it was one of the reasons we chose to go to see that game. We tend to build a good relationship with players at Slough and Alex did well for us. I think it's also a testimony to Slough supporters that he even thought twice about the offer from Eastleigh given the money you're paying him.

 

I really think you've missed a trick though if you're going to play him at left back. He's pretty good defensively although I would class him as a great wing back who can defend well as opposed to a great defender who can attack a bit. As Gary says, it's his attacking ability that changes games although Saturday you didn't play with much width.

Alex will be totally wasted if you play him at the back all the time, as a defender he'll do okay, but I presume you aren't paying him all that money to just do okay.
