Should 'Irons Webbo' apologise?

After slating our pitch all week, a great deal of hard work from our groundstaff went into ensuring that the Chelmsford/Boretree match went ahead. Despite snow, rain, sleet and freezing temperatures in the past few days, this was achieved. Should IW now apologise for his crass remarks?

No, he should just apologise. No need for a reason.

You Ryan and Gazza sound like fully paid up members of the apologists society, only you like to put it about but never retract a smidgen of any of yer nonsense then demand apologies from good folk like Webbo and myself for having views which ruffles feathers a bit. Why are you so precious?

I agree the ground was poor, I went to see the game, but considering the weather and the number of games that are played it isn't bad. It was the same for both teams.

Chelmsford deserved their draw and I saw nothing wrong with Ansell's challenge, it was just poor goal keeping.

With the exception of Ansell their is nothing much to trouble us with Chelmsford, however it is a local derby and results don't always go the obvious way. We shall have to wait and see.

From watching Chelmsford a few times this season, Ansell is the main threat, but Nicholls is one of the best keepers in the league and their defence is mostly solid and haven't conceded many recently. With our defence, can't see them scoring many, if any and with our scoring record recently we should be too much for them.

Bill, I would agree that considering the weather the pitch was as good as could be hoped for, as it gets some use.

Agree again, bad goalkeeping for the equalizer and a draw was fair.

Did think Chelmsford in particular first half used the route one stuff up to Ansell a lot.

Don't know if this is their usual tactic ?

As you say local derbies are difficult to predict, will suggest a draw.

Simple question demands a simple answer...'cos we're not cheats, blaggards and cowards!!! We don't hide behind a fact for a fact's sake, we experience the event and don't make arguements when we are a distance away...

Oh and here's a laugh 1 all!! You got it right IW!!! Anymore predictions.

Route one was the only sensible option bearing in mind the centre of the pitch was quite heavy. Not condusive for players on either side to to try and run with the ball....

We do okay...

I think with Chelmsford coming good at the mo, it'll be a tight game but our home record speaks volumes and with our strikers now firing on all cylinders we should win through.

Your comments are all spot on.

In an earlier post, I pointed out that our pitch would not suit Braintre, at home you are used to better.

George was down bright and early Saturday to inspect, then again mid morning, so I think your team were aware of what was needed.

It's all getting very exciting at the business end of the table. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/rasta.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/elephant.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/boxing.gif" alt="" />

Think you will find it a lot closer game than you have seen of late with some of your recent results. We not prolific goalscorers but have tightened up the defence considerably with only the one defeat in the last 16 games. Can't see many goals being scored in either match. Far more important for you to try to get the three points than perhaps it is for us. As Braintree found out, we aren't an easy side to play.....
