Programmes

Recommended Posts

What happened yesterday - I entered the ground around 10 minutes before kick off, only to find no programmes left at the Fleet end. There were only 1100 Fleet fans there today, so why did we run out? Myself & my father both normally buy a programme, so that was at least £5 of income that the club lost, and I bet there were a few more who would have bought one as well.

My Dad got his from the office at half-time - I recommend this course of action to people who can't get one from the usual sources. Of course, you shouldn't have to do this - they should still be selling them right up to kick-off.

I did manage to get my copy from Ken who had a stock but that was at at 14.05.

However this week the editing hit new depths. There was a sentence in Alan Parker's column that contained 110 words, 8 lines without a full stop to be seen. Just about every other article did not really make sense, having terrible grammar, typos and a distinct lack of punctuation.

One or two mistakes are inevitable but for £2.50 it would be nice to be able to just read an article without having to guess what it is meant to say.

I can only assume that there is no editing and proof reading of articles or it is edited...by a 7 year old. In addition some basic facts even get printed incorrectly (it says we drew 2-2 with Tamworth the other week among other mistakes)

If someone from the club wants to get in touch I would be happy to supply my email address and proof read all articles before publication.

It is getting to be (as it might read in the programme) " a real embarrrasmente giving that we is a conference side, and are ment to b professnal, if this goeson much longa we will be a larfing stok"

You'll also find that the match by match data is wrong. I think the attendances at the Crawley and Accrington games around Christmas have been mixed up together. The results are often inconsistently displayed where we have been the away team.

if you read the reports of the f.a trophy youl find that the report for eastwood vs hereford is very biased in the favour of eastwood

Don't worry, they can't be held responsible for that - they stole it from the NLP (as demonstrated by their misspelling of Hereford's 'keeper's name as 'Manson').
