For the second week running, a cheating goalkeeper has got his just deserts against us. This week, the Braintree keeper moved at snail's pace to take each goal kick in the second half; he had all the tricks. When the ball went off one side, he would slowly stroll to the OTHER side of the goal to take the kick. He would prepare the ground like a kicker in rugby about to go for a conversion or penalty. On a number of occasions he'd re-seat the ball two or three times before deigning to kick it. And all this to choruses of protest and derision from the City fans behind the goal.

 

It was a sweet moment indeed, then, when, with almost the last kick of the game, the keeper allowed Paul Nicholls' free kick, struck from the half way line, to slip through his fingers into the net.

Obviously thier limitations are that they can't play for the full 90 minutes.
