Attendances

Being so aware of the importance of us getting good crowds this season,

and reports of a big gate expected for tomorrows match with D & R,

I'm sure it won't have escaped anyone's attention that Margate could

only muster 413 souls for their opening game (not many more than we

took to Dorchester). Is the trek to Dover proving too far? Playing 'away'

certainly didn't stop the Yeovil fans giving their team massive support

on Saturday (you had to be a little envious).

Surely Margate can't sustain a Conference team with this lack of support.

On a similar tack there is a posting on the Canvey website criticising Hayes for being poorly supported.

Well, our match was comfortably the highest Conference attendance tonight - alright local derby, against highly regarded side and our first home game back in the Conference was every reason for this to be the case, but even so, 2036 tonight certainly puts Margatres attendance on Saturday, well and truly in the shade. (Dagenham had the second lowest gate of only just over 1300, but then they were playing Leigh & the delayed kick off probably affected the gate as well)
