If you are going to ban anonynimity lets go the whole hog and find out who the anonymous people Club Directors?, Chairpeople,strange sounding companies,(not many people have heard of).Anonymous people who have made decisions about OUR Club, the ground, the pitch etc, etc.and have completley F****D it up.AND REFUSE TO STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

About time they "bothered" then. Only takes a minute or two. Once done there is no need to log-in again. If the "box" is ticked, automatic logging-on is done every-time a visit is made. No need to log-on ever again.

Then those idiots can say what they want but will be contactable about their remarks and at the same time those of us that DO register will be satisfied and will have no further cause to create a debate about this subject again.

Ah but they can be contacted and that makes a difference, Can I contact you? No! Not unless I have that opportunity. You obviously know who I am but would you have, if I was an annon. You see you have an advantage over me. Also once you get to be known around the club as "Cookie","Margatefan","TonyM","Hornet" etc at least we know and respect those people.Why is it such a hard job for some of you to register? It baffles me. Having to give your e.mail address(in secret of course) will clean up all those that feel they can say what they like, stir things up,and just walk away, knowing that there will be no come back.

I've got to say that forums seem to die once you go registered only.

 

There are various reasons that not all register-most laziness and/or people are logging on from work.

 

Equally there are often worthwhile contributions from visiting fans just before and after matches .

 

Anom. postings do contribute to the discussion imo;and on some occasions hit on the truth that some of us know but maybe do not want to admit to.

 

The thing is not to get wound up by the stupid postings, and for the moderators to ensure anything libellous or obscene is swiftly eliminated.

MM, if annons come on with sensible remarks and as you say actually DO contribute without malice then in the same way it would be nice to know who has said what and to be respectful of their opinions and in some cases congratulate them on their input.Thanking or praising an annon is like talking to yourself. Its like talkng to no-one. Register, click the box and remain logged in continuously. Whats the problem? It only has to be done once and no more logging in is needed. Even the "lazy" ones can do it the once surely.

what about when people are at work or school/college or in a internet cafe and cant log in? would mean they cant read the forum or post.

 

not only that at least 50% of our posts are anon. you take them away and this forum will be quiet at best

 

i know as a registered user if this forum was made registerd only then i would stop posting.. or make a new forum.

 

you only have to look at whats happend to dovers forum to see what will happen here.

with all the you can only post about matches in match threds and so on. its a dictatorship.

agree with legend as anoying and insulting as some anon posters are u run a high risk of turning this forum in to a ghost forum and that is something none of us want to see.
