In The Observer This Week

Interesting to read about a proposed Sikh sports centre which is being put forward for land in Muddy Lane, Slough on p2 of the Observer this week. Apparently a decision is being made in ieght weeks by planning inspector Sue Turner on these, although the local residents are opposed to it (surprise, surprise)

 

Much more pleasing to read "Fanatics Will Walk 62 miles to watch soccer" on page 20 which is a good write up on the sponsored walk being arranged by Ian, so well done Observer on getting some coverage in there, let's hope this event, now supported by the Observer, gets plenty of coverage in the build up and during the event itself.

They wanted a picture too but gave me 3 hours notice on Wednesday lunchtime! They've promised to run another article the week before with a picture and also come own and get photograph's of when we leave Wexham Park on the Thursday.

 

I'll be sending a note around soon about sponsorship and I hope even those not participating will collect on behalf of those that are.

If they wanted a picture Boxy should have sent a photographer over the road to meet me! Any chance of that route Ian?

Strange though that the council told us that there was no land for development in Slough. I see that permission was granted and because it was on green belt the govt called it in. Amazing what can be achieved with the right motivation.

 

Very good article on the walk hopefully will be a rip roaring success this year.
