Read in the paper today that he had died. I know that as a club we have had our problems with the Thornes, but cann't help thinking that it was mainly down to his son, Byron, who did not appear to like football. Alan was a football person and helped to save both Millwall and us from dire straits. He was also often found in the bar both willing to buy you a pint, and to discuss the clubs performances. If only things had been different.

He can only sell it at Sports Land at the moment though surely, and that can't be worth much more than the £300k he bought it for. If on the other hand he sits on the land and waits for it to be turned into housing land, he can sell it for millions.

Not exactly a difficult decision to make sadly for us.

My understanding is that the Thornes have always seen Wexham Park as a long term investment to pass down the generations of their family.
