Oi! Webbo!: Knocky's scratch card.

Hi Webbo.

 

You might remember that after each home game, Knocky sells 40 squares on a scratch card thingy for £1 to punters who select from a list of football teams, and when the card is complete, someone scratches the winners box and the name of a football club is revealled. The person what chose that team wins £20.

 

A bit of fun and the club make £20. Good stuff for all concerned.

 

Now I am always pleased when the lucky winner is someone who could be regarded as a 'regular fan'. Someone who attends, not perhaps every game, but a good number. Home and away. Rain or shine. Thick or thin. Good times and not so good. It somehow seems right that regular people should get a small reward although, of course, in any game of chance, of pitch and toss and the like, each participant has an equal opportunity to win.

 

Well I hear that you won the thing at the game last night Webbo.

 

I just wanted to say that I have revised my opinion. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter whether the thing is won by a regular fan or by someone who only gets to one game every 4 months. Well done, old chap.

 

Oh, by the way. Just one more thing. A source tells me that you were the first person to select a team on the blank card, Webbo. And you chose Newcastle United. As it turned out, a very good choice indeed. Clearly a totally random selection on your part.
