Yep - there was some hanging from the upper terrace at Villa Park in the Trophy final.

 

We often discuss how quiet we are as fans and not singing to get behind the lads - but a lot of opposing fans do display banners and/or flags, and this seems to be something that we overlook as a way of supporting our club.

Although I suppose if Canvey fans supporting a club at its pinnacle of success, in the highest echelons of non league football, are going to argue and swear at each other at places like Bishops Stortford then who the hell wants to get that involved? <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

poor performance i thought we should of won that from wat i could c... the referee was kinda of an idiot cuz he didnt let us have the corner.. but just blew the whistle we could of scored lol... it would of been nice to win or go into an exciting extra time or penalties

didn't Jeff say when interviewed that he made a mistake and should have changed the formation earlier, so the criticism was right on this occasion.

If your refering to the Bishops game then criticism of Jeff by the fans seems founded.

 

Seems weird that fans at a local game were moaning and having a go - yet on Saturday at Burton the fans got behind the team and I didn't really hear that much in the way of negative comments. Saturday was also quite a poor game and one which we really could have done with all the points - but the fans weren't as negative.

the burton game was a different affair it wasnt a game that we were favorites. against BS we were clear favorites and we didnt play like it. that i feel was the reason for most of the fans being annoyed

But do you feel that when we play against local clubs and we have more supporters the feel is more negative than when a hardcore 40 odd fans make a journey t'up north? Just curious.

you could be right, although I have felt the negative feeling at pretty much every game this season. it is true though BS was by far the worst and not even close to the worst we have played this season

Agree. I've been to the likes of Hereford, York and Exeter this season and right from the start the vocal support has been good. Not necccesarily loads of singing but players have been encouraged, applauded and not abused. Generally it's been the small band of supporters who go on the coach who have made up the majority of the crowd. I've noticed that the ones who moan and whinge are not the coach regulars and in fairness are not the ones who make the long trips up north.

Then again I didn't go Saturday, so what do I know!!

I think drinking copious amounts of alcohol on the coach always helps!!
