Pitch/weather report

Just popped down and had a look round as at 3.15 this afternoon.

 

There is sheeting protecting the two goalmouths so this should be ok. There is no standing water on the pitch which is generally ok but there is a very heavy segment on the dugout side of the ground going into each half about 20 yards and about 15 yards out from the centre spot. It has to be said it's quite well furrowed but ok at the moment.

 

Unfortunately it has just started raining quite hard.

Just been down, pitch is as JL described. Currently a light drizzle, not enough to call the cricket off though! Unless there is persistent heavy rain, I reckon we should be alright. That's the cue for the heavens to open up!!

Just had a txt from JohnR who is at the ground... Ref has done a pitch inspection, will be doing another at 6.30. Raining at mo, not looking to good apparently.
