Hendon tonight

The game with Hendon tonight marks the start of an intense two month period of matches. In the next 61 days we have 16 league matches and the two legs of the Bryco Cup semi final to squeeze in which will test the stamina of the players. We currently sit 17th, outside the relegation zone on goal difference. Our opposition sit in 12th place, having put together a string of good results in their last four matches (three wins and a draw) to pull them clear of the relegation zone. It is this sort of run of results that we need to put some distance between ourselves and the bottom four. A win tonight will take us up to 13th, which sounds better than 18th if we lose.

Our next three matches pit ourselves against other teams in the relegation picture. Despite their good run Hendon will know they are not safe yet, while Folkestone and Windsor sit precariously above the drop zone. All three of the matches are winnable but will be tough encounters. Hendon have put some results together, Folkestone home form is the only thing keeping them out of the bottom four while the Windsor game brings local rivalries and the fear of relegation together for a big midweek clash.

Best case scenario - We win all 3, we move onto 45 points and can be pretty sure that with 13 games left we can start to look upwards rather than over our shoulders.

Acceptable scenario - Win 2 lose or draw 1, 6 or 7 points from these games puts us into a strong position, going well past 40 points

Less acceptible scenario - Win 1 lose one or two, 3 or 4 points would be less good, having not made much use of two of our games in hand.

Worse case scenario - lose all three. No points in the next three games would put us in trouble, either in the relegation zone, or in the same position as we are in now with only our goal difference keeping our heads above water.

It'll certainly be an interesting week. I personally think we are most likely to pick up two wins out of three (wouldn't like to guess which ones though) which will do us a lot of good. However, given that for every game we win in the league, we lose one (W10 L10) perhaps a W D L record is most likely.

Time to get behind the boys. Up the rebels

Good Analysis. With the fixture congestion our 'luck' with injuries is going to be a crucial factor. Just 11 league games in 4 months. Now 16 in 2 months is a massive differance. We won't win every game that is for sure, but need to win the next 3 out of 4 at home though to get in the comfort zone.

A win tonight is just the start. A draw or loss just means the start begins Saturday. No big deal and I hope the doomsters lay off. If it is 5 games to go and we are 17th rather than 5 games in hand then tell us how you were right all along.

If we play like we have in the last few matches (except two obvious ones), I think we have a good chance against the next three teams.

Once we get our confidence going on the pitch, we are a good passing side that can match anyone in our division.

I'm just sorry that I can't get away from Horsham tonight to get to the game.
