I was watching that "Fash FC" the other night and he dropped his captain for being indisciplined and being sent off.

 

On the previous thread about the Bishops Stortford game the question of Mints being captain was raised - it was something I also noticed because Lee was being made captain if Gregogrs wasn't playing. I also agreed with the comments made that Mints is to quiet on the field.

 

My question - what qualities do you most rate in a player to make him a captain?

 

IMHO - it's a player who can read the game and convey the changes required by management, but not necessarily one who looks at the bench every 5 minutes. A player who can see where the game is being lost and effectively alter what's happening on the pitch without detriment.

What qualities make him stand out to you from numerous other players.........as a player in general, not necessarily just for Canvey.

he is very loud on the pitch, constantly telling players what to do or where to be. As rich said, a born leader. He knows where he should be when the opposing team have the ball. he is not afraid of letting people know of what he thinks and that is always important for a captain.

Gotta agree with the above reasons for mad dog, can always here him geeing up the players, also encouraging the younger ones, would get my vote

He is a [****!!****] but hen so is Roy keen, I can se a lot of similarities.

i always think potter should be captain, as he can see the whole of the game at all times, and can see which players are out of position, otherwise i agree mad dog should be captain, as well as being on the first team permanently.
