Looking at the Farnborough board, it seems he wants out.

 

If we are looking for a Central Defender, we could do worse than get Nick back, as he was always very solid and reliable in his previous spell with us (the main concern is that he's rather injury prone)

That would certainly please my son, Nick was always his favourite player.

I think Nick left us because he lives in Reading and the travel was too much, which might make it doubtful that he would return.

He's too slow and not good enough. Good Conf.South defender not good enough to play for a top half conference side.

In all seriousness, I always rated Nick, but as with many of our other past players this was largely based on his performances at Ryman level. It's probably debatable whether he's any better than what we already have - although only three specialist centre-backs in the squad at the moment (if you exclude Jay's potential to cover there) can leave us a little short at times. But given that he's club captain at Farnborough, it's unlikely he'd want to rejoin us merely as cover.

Burton did do a good service for us. He was reliable & "talked" well but I would say he would only be adequate now. We need a CH to dominate in the air (bit like Moore/Shearer!) but most importantly one YET TO PLAY IN THE TROPHY

Apparently Holloway turned us down to go to Farnborough - good choice.

Even if Crawley were fifth, I fail to see how it's the wrong move for Nick.

Wow GNFC are only six places and 11 points behind Carlisle, I had no idea. If only we had turned more of those defeats into draws and wins.
