Dorchester

Usually a ground makes way for a superstore - for a change, it was the superstore who helped to make the way for the ground. My visit to Tesco at Dorchester coincided with the Urchins match.

Two new players - Lee Allen, on work experience from QPR, and Ryan Johnston - no idea where he is from, can anyone help?

Good start, Terry Bowes away on the left, but he is hacked down outside the area - no action by the referee other than a free kick - later in the game, a yellow would be a certainly, a red a strong possibility.

Urchins scored a few mins later from a free kick, but the referee ordered a re-take. I always thought the attacking team were meant to have the advantage - obviously I was wrong.

Slack marking and they are one down - more slack marking and it's two.

Strong wind, and three times in succession long clearances by the home keeper causes problems in the Urchins defence/ Newcomer Lee Allen looked good, but twice the home player conned the referee into awarding free kicks against him.

The Doog went close, but was having little luck up front - then Bowes begins to help out on the left and things look better, whilst Allen makes good use of the ball on the other side.

Half time nil two and the score was a bit unfair to Urchins.

Second half, wind in their favour, but a soft muddy pitch, in very poor condition.

The Doog just fails to get in a shot, Matt Glynn has a shot deflected for a corner. Then - at last - on comes Chris Stowe - WHY WAS HE NOT IN THE STARTING LINE UP ? - and why was Andy taken off ? and why no Tony Maynard ?

Stowe makes an immediate impact, and with Bowes now a lot more effective on the right, a goal just has to come. Locke starts it off, Allen on to Bowes, out to the Doog, over it comes, in it goes _Chris Stowe - super sub.

Dorchester are struggling and two yellow cards follow. Then Bowes is chopped down - no penalty, play on. The crowd - not many of them but most of them only too ready to have a go at the ref - and it works.

A miskick from defence and a Dorchester player lobs the ball back onto the bar with Micky D yards off his line, but it bounces back right into his hands - of course, he knew this would happen, and that's why he was standing there waiting for the rebound.

Glybb wins a corner, a Bowes shot hits the Doog, Johnston makes a good tackle to stop the home number eleven, and then, with Urchins attacking, Dorchester break away and score.

Overall, it was a lot better than last week. My player of the match - Adam Locke, with good performances from Jamie and Scott. Nice debut from Lee Allen - he does not look very old.

If anyone has any money, perhaps they could send the referee a new stop watch - the first half lasted 44 mins and 48 secs, and the second half 44 mins and 40 secs.

Think he's ex Enfield. Not sure what his last club was.

Right - I've got Ryan Johnson - note the spelling ont he QPR wen page - it's Johnson, not Johnston - according to their web page, he's seventeen, and his squad number is 26, and he is in his third season. He has played for the reserves but is generally in the U18 team.

I might have found Lee Allen - there again, I might not - there is (or was) a Lee Allen playing for Hemel Hempsted this season - and that's the only one that google has come up with.

Yep remember a Lee Allen playing for Thurrock. Quite a useful player from what I remember.

That's our Lee Allen Dagger04, btw why not HX04 ?

Anyway a good summing up of the game and I agree with the opening stages it certainly was a deliberate bad foul on TB and Jamie's goal should have stood, why one rule for some etc..?

Nice ground though and people as well with a mixture of Muffs thrown in for good measure as their game called off.

As usual our fans absolutely great and finishing off with the "Red n' White Army" trademark, a long way to go and a big thank you to all who travelled giving the usual camaraderie, nice to see the usual kids there as well all attired in their kits.

Keep the faith and let's look forward to the future.
