unlucky rebels, sounds like we really gave it a go, i guess we all knew the league difference would shine through, but from the sounds of it we proved to be more than 'only' a ryman side.

all good things must come to an end, but at least it frees up some fixture list space!

well done to the lads, a fantastic cup run!

I thought we contributed significantly to our own downfall. Whilst G&N had loads of possession, Allaway didn't have one real shot to save. Their first was an unmarked header from a corner and the second was an unmarked cross into the box. On both occasions you could point the finger at the keeper and say he should have come for the ball but equally the defender shouldn't just stand there and wait for the keeper to come if he hasn't called to say he's going to. The third was a good finish from a run into the box which should have been stopped before he got there.

 

Had we defended properly, we would have won. On the balance of play we wouldn't have deserved to, but as I say, they created very little for all the ball they had.

 

Blatant handball towards the end as the defender leant forward under pressure from Josias and clearly controlled the ball with his hand but the referee gave us almost nothing all game so no surprise there.

 

Essandoh's wasn't a head injury, it was his ribs/back as Hodgey put him into the post defending the cross with as good a defensive header as you'll see at any level of football.

Hang on, your number seven fooled him nearly every time. One time lead to your second goal. and it was pretty lucky the ref seemed to be blind or your no. 6 (i think) would have been off for his lunge and then his attempt to strangle our player.

Our number 7 went off injured in the first half so had nothing to do with the second goal. The ref did seem to forget to bring his cards today and the wrestling match probably merited bookings on both sides.

Last time I remember seeing a worse Ref. was when the referee sent off Mark Pye in the FA Trophy clash in 1999.

 

The number of handballs he missed must have gone into double figures, and when Harris took the ball off the gravesend player for a throw onl he gave the throw to gravesend AND, when Hodges was pushed to the floor, he gave the free-kick to gravesend.

 

There was more aswell, but can't be asked to remember them at the moment.

Think iot was a foul on Josias Carbon, but I'm not sure. It was a damn good free-kick though. Don't think hes scored two goals in one game in his life before today!!!!

It was a good game, the Rebels gave Gravesend a good run for their money.

 

The big dissapointment was the state of the refereeing, no yellow cards shown for some bad tackles and for a set of handbags at dawn. He also missed a blatant handball.

 

Pity the run is over, but well done Rebels for getting this far....

The one in the box is the one im guessing you are referring to; in my opinion it was a hard one for the ref to spot (And the lino) and also was without intent. If i was a ref, even if i had seen it, i wouldnt have given a pen.

 

However, i would have sent off the little cocktard for having a go at Mets, and booked Mets also...

 

Ok their 3rd was a good goal, but HOW STATIC were our defence/Shauny for the first 2?? We need to learn how to defend set play esp corners, the best defensive minded player from set pieces is our top goalscorer for fecks sake!
