Sub-Forums - Layout Changes

Hi,

 

We are introducing sub-forums.

 

As a result the layout of the main index page ( http://www.nonleague.co.uk/forum ) will be altering. However any/all existing links will still work.

 

There is method in this madness

 

It is designed to give the forums a more logical layout - for example Gravesend forums belong under the Conference League forum - not lumped together with 30 other club forums - likewise for all other clubs.

 

There may be some more tinkering involved - so as a result the sub-forums may move slightly, as I tweak this.

 

On thing we might introduce is more forums - of course you still need visit only those forums that interest you. But more importantly it should reduce the overall length of the main index page, whilst allowing its growth.

 

One important factor - if you currently have 'Favourite Forums' selected on the index page - you may be missing the category that your club forum now resides. It may be better to turn this off, whilst the changes are made. Categories will probably alter as well.

 

At the moment the Conference has altered - with Canvey and Gravesend becoming sub-forums of it. Any additional club forums are sub-forums of the main club forum.

Okay - a re-jig of the forums in well underway

 

The majority of forums are still visible from the index page (at the moment ) - many are sub-forums.

 

We have a new general football forum - leaving the World of Sport to all other sport. This is joined by the Football Software forum.

 

On the whole everything is roughly in the right place now.

 

We also have a new section - Site News, Support & Introductions - this contains Site News, New Members Forum & a new forum for Site Support and Suggestions - where we will do our best to answer questions, and where we welcome suggestions on improving the site further....

 

As mentioned all old links should continue to work - and clicking on a league forum will now show all club forums, within that league at a glance.

 

I honestly do not see any need to do any further major re-formating to the layout for quite some time. The only changes now will be growth. (hopefully!)

 

We are rapidly approaching the half-million point in posts, so needed to adapt to the growth.

 

The forums started as one single forum for Canvey Island many moons ago, but soon extended to cover the Ryman League, then the rest of non-league and then.....

Pull down menus at the top have also been updated

 

The third menu (User Menu) - may give a few pages that you are not allowed - if this is the case, then just login and you will be fine....
