Mets

I see from todays Observer that Mets is allowed to play against Gravesend as the ban is only a one-game ban after all, which was served against AFC. Good news.

Gives Eddie a bit of a headache though. Can't see Wilko being dropped and although it would be harsh i'd think about leaving Spence out, only because of our poor away record for this game to tighten things up in midfield? Thoughts?

I would tend to agree with you. Leave Spence out for this one (harsh though that is) and go with the more solid Mets and Wilko. If it needs changing you have a good option on the bench. But having said that it is good to have three different midfield types when we start with say Wilko, Spence and Chopper.

When our midfielders are fit and suspension free that has to be our most competitive area for places.

I don't think Mets is really an impact player. He tends to try and control the midfield and dictate the pace of the game - not something that is easily done coming off the bench.

I personally would keep the same team as Tuesday. The 11 players selected played bl**dy well in the second half and have deserved their starting places. That's no reflection on Mets but I would think it very unfair if any of the others were left out. The only reason I would start Mets is if Wilko has any injury worries.

I thought Spencer had a decent game. I don't "want" any of our players dropped. I thought all three did well on Tuesday which is why Eddie has a selection dilemma ahead of the game. As it should be.

I agree that players should retain their places if they've played well. No-one should be just able to walk into the side as that breeds complacency. Even if Hodgey was able to return up front today I'd leave Seedel in as I thought his second half performance was the real difference on Tuesday.

Thinking back though, for the Walsall game Eddie played both Mets and Wilko and left out Spence and it wouldn't surprise me if he did the same today, away against higher opposition.
