"DEFINITELY" What was said tonight.

Pitch figures in metres are correct, and have been informed that the previous size of pitch would have been slightly bigger than these new measurements. Think in yards they now measure roughly 110yds X 70 yds. Maybe someone can convert exactly for me.Thats plenty big enough I.M.O.

Its been a while now since I refereed but I think the minimum requirements for ANY football pitch were/are 100yds X 50yds. Shall check this out though but think I am correct.

Further to my most recent post I can now confirm that required measurements

are as follows =

For adult football only. Local parks football and upwards.

Length= (min)9om or 100yds - (max)120m or 130yds

Width= (min)45m or 50yds - (max)90m or 100yds

So in theory it is possible to have a square pitch.

No its not, because the laws specifically say that the pitch must not be sqare.

Good news for you all. I bet you are all looking forward to talking about football again! Its great for us to talk footy again after our troubles.

When will the embargo be lifted and will the super stadium get ok'd?

Of course you are correct David. I do recall what you say to be true. However I did say in "theory" but if the rules state no square football pitch then I suppose in "theory" is also incorrect. My apologies. Had forgotten that stipulation. Thanks for rectifying my error there.Perhaps the word "hypothitically" would have been more appropiate.

Guess we both slept ok then Cookie.

I'm not really that much of an anorak, but i was 'deeply troubled ' by pitch width.

In all seriousness i could see 3000 (you can always hope) turning up for first match only for club officials to be red faced when pitch is'nt wide enough.

Problem is i guess that those of us over 40 can't handle metric measurements.

I still want to pay admission charge in pounds ,shillings and pence

Definately have to play 4-4-2 as there won't be enough width for 5 across the back

That will be a shame <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

well i guess 70 yards is a tad narrow but tbh i dont care if we were playing on a tennis court as long as were back at hartsdown.

Congratulations

It must be great news for you all. Life must be so much better, you are talking about the size of the pitch and not if you will have one or not.

Good Luck.
