I like a little bet now and again, but being a bit thick, I don't understand how this accumulator business works, so with sky bet for example, if I wanted to bet on these matches what would the total odds be and is it worth it and can I do it?

Man Utd v Portsmouth - HOME WIN

Tottenham v Fulham - HOME WIN

Gillingham v Wigan - AWAY WIN

Leeds v West Ham - AWAY WIN

Hull v Colchester - HOME WIN

Port Vale v Luton - AWAY WIN

Stockport v Hartlepool - AWAY WIN

Wycombe v Notts County - HOME WIN

Rangers v Kilmarnock - HOME WIN

Clyde v Celtic - AWAY WIN

forest green rovers v stevenage borough - AWAY WIN

eastwood town v hereford united - AWAY WIN

stamford v exeter city - AWAY WIN

Welling v Havant - HOME WIN

Billericay Town v Cheshunt - HOME WIN

Braintree Town v Harrow Borough - HOME WIN

Tonbridge Angels - - - Leyton - AWAY WIN

Wealdstone - - - Windsor & Eton - HOME WIN (Sorry Woody!!)

Thanks

Chris

An accumulator works by placing the winnings from game 1 on your chosen outcome for game 2 and the winnings from games 1 & 2 on game 3 and so on.

The drawback of accumulators is all results have to come in, obviously, and if you're thinking of doing a single accumulator on that lot, you're very brave. I do a five game accumulator every Saturday and only once this season have all the results come in. It's harder to predict than you might think or maybe I'm just picking the wrong one's!

If you put a pound on that lot the winnings would be enormous but that's because the likelihood of correctly forecasting an 18 game accumulator are very, very slim.

You can slightly minimise losses by doing doubles and trebles within the overall accumulator but that obviously increases your outlay. Were you intending to do all 18 in one bet?!!

For something like that you can often place something silly like 5p down and stand to win thousands. It's what I do from time to time, for a laugh. Like Ian says, you've got a much better chance with doubles and trebles but you would have to shell out more money.

Cheers Guys,

Was thinking of doing it for a laugh and thought this would be the best place to ask!!!

How bout:

Barnet v Aldershot (Draw) @ 3.40

Farnborough v Leigh RMI (Away Win) @ 4.33

Forest Green v Stevenage (Away Win) @ 1.90

Halifax v Northwich (Draw) @ 3.40

Burton v Morecambe (Home Win) @ 2.25

A £3 stake wins you £641.97

For a more serious one...

Not sure personally Chris, I don't know a lot about the Conference and I never bet on draws. BFR?

I've got a 50p accumulator on the five 'outsiders' for this weekend's Ryman Premier games which stands to win me £900, and a fiver on a 'proper' four fold: Billericay, Braintree, Dover and Worthing.

Bet 365 makes that £1,511.15 for a one pound bet. Or you could do a super heinz at £120 to win £12,741.35
