Aafter reading all your posts regarding last nights match of which I have to say Slough were really impressive and totally deserved their win not sure why AFC didn't raise their game as only lead in 1st half throgh set pieces.

Anyway a few of you have said see u next season well i'm sorry to dissapoint but it looks like Slough, Windsor and,if relegated,Maidenhead will be playing in the Southern league not the Isthmian. Meaning missing out on the 'bumper' saturday crowd of AFC and travelling to the 'west country'.

see link for possible leagues next season http://www.tonykempster.btinternet.co.uk/maps05-06.htm

I for one was looking forward to seeing my team, AFC, play my local clubs.......but which league would be the hardest to gain promotion from???

While I find another's maps useful they are by his own admission guesswork. Nobody will really be sure which league we are in until the leagues are finalised in the summer. The dividing line between the Ryman and Southern league means that we are on the border but lots of things could change. With Newport, WSM and St Albans all hovering above the Connie South drop zone and with all three likely to be placed in the Southern Premier there are lots of things still to consider. However, given that this is Slough's fifth change of division in as many seasons it would surprise me at all to see us switch over to the southern league.

I wonder what would happen if only one of Windsor and Slough had to do into the Southen League. How would they decide it?

Or do they decide it by the location of the town any way?

Back on topic...

Does any officals know if this is move is likely to happen? Like i said as i understand it the clubs hadn't been 'offically' informed a few weeks ago.

If we do get relegated at least in the southenleague it's not so far to travel

I would prefer us to be in the Southern league next year because it would mean more away ganes closer to my new home town. As I've said before I also beleive the Southern league is of a lower standard than the Ryman. I've seen a few games at Gloucester City this season and the standard is cr4p. It's all long ball kick and chase, by a bunch of overweight pub footballers. We would definately be top 5 next season if we're in the Southern league.

Obviously this is all speculation but we know from being switched from the North to South division in recent times that another tends to be fairly accurate. Basically with the restructuring they will just have to wait and see what teams are at what levels and shoehorn them in as best as possible. Could see a lot of movement and some strangely mixed divisions. But I doubt clubs will hear anything official until it is very clear who is going to be playing what level of football.

But if they are expecting to do this wouldn't it be an idea to warn the clubs as they would need to apply to join them. The correct layout is not important at this stage just the name of the alternate league they the club could be put in.
