Ignoring "Gravesend Gills" comments....surely that's a contradiction in terms anyway ?? Gravesend Gills ?? ha ha !!

But...in answer to the question....Gravesend used to have quite a lot of firms...sadly they seem to be on the demise...the latest being AEI...previous casualties including IPM, EPM & DRG Sacks ( or Paper Sacks as they were formerly known !).....oh well.....we will all be one eurolink and car park if fatty Prescott gets his way !! Enjoy the greenery while you can !

Cheers,

Our big Rivals are any other Kent clubs (Gillingham, Margate and Dover being the obvious ones) Also Canvey Dagenham & Redbridge along with Grays,

No they aren't.

Who are our rivals then? Pretty sad not having any if you ask me. We don’t seem to have any one team which we class as our ‘main rivals’, two games which we look for above all others when the fixture lists are produced. I always considered Dartford our main rivals followed by Maidstone United until about ten years ago, but even now we get supporters who’ll watch Dartford if we’re not playing. The games against Canvey were interesting when we were both going for promotion, but it’s hardly a rivalry, likewise Margate when they were playing Conference football.

If Grays are such big rivals and only just across the river did you go to our last match against them Harry?

No I didn't. Thats kind of unfair, going to Chelsea just seemed normal. When I started going to Chelsea I was to young to go to football on my own so when I was old enough it didn't seem weird to carry on going there.

I don't understand some people on here, you want people like me to abandon their premiership teams but when we do you critcise us for doing what we've always done.

If you had been in my situation SLarti would you have given up your "Champions elect" Premiership team for part timers?

Not being funny mate but why do you keep having sly digs at Harry all the time eh? Ok the fella comes out with some nonsense now and again but don’t we all. If I made a point of speaking up every time you spouted [****!!****] would you like it? Lay of the bloke eh, he comes across as a sound lad and his hearts in the right place so a few of you lot wanna stop the bully boy tactics eh?

People moaning about people not registering but can you really blame them? When they do the same little group thinking that cos they’ve been registered for over three years or whatever and accumulated X amount of posts then your opinions more valuable or something.

Good point about watching your local side Harry and forget the muggy comments on here. They like nothing better than whinging about needing more supporters one minute only to brand you a Johnny-cum-lately the next.

Harry's got 1,390 in five months or so! His opinions are becoming more valuable all the time. <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

With Daggers, Grays and Canvey all being so close, I suspect they won't worry too much about us Kent boys.
Maybe once Dartford get their own ground they will be able to move up the non-league pyramid and be worth hating but I think that will take a few years.

Exactly. Chelsea have, since I have supported them, always had Tottenham, Arsenal and West Ham just for starters with recent additions being Charlton and Fulham so to suddenly support a team who doesn't have any real rivals seems weird.
