Anon- I'm not knocking Slough or AFC wimbledon but it is clear the Bryco cup lacks any sort of appeal and with little money invovled a reckon it should be scraped and the county cups made longer and given a raised profile

The league cup never has had much appeal to supporters until the semi's or the final and this won't change, but the competition is here to stay.

Having said that, I'd prefer it if more teams entered the Senior B&B Cup, as there's 9 at the moment, maybe 10 now with MK Dons, and that's pitiful.

Having said that, the last thing we'd want right now is more fixtures to try and fit in on top of the two leg semi final we've now got.

Superb come back from the REBELS should of scored before WIMBLEDON got there first and had more chances in the first halve.

What a difference the side is when WILKO is playing he had a cracking game.

Fed up listening to all the maoners when things don't go our way get behind the side.

Still a lot to play for in the coming months

Fair play to you as Slough proved worthy winners tonight. I thought you gave us far to much respect in the first half and we scored two soft goals. You bossed the second half though and looked like you'd score from every attack. To be fair we were awful in the second half (defending whats that?! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) as bad as we've been all season but I'll settle for being top of our league and hopefully some revenge next season! (infront of a big Rebels/Dons crowd 2k+ maybe?) All the best in the next round and for the rest of the season.

Should have scored in the first half and were unlucky on one or two occasions not to have pulled at least one back.

Don't think Allaway had too much to do during the match aside from a good first half save with his leg, and one where it looked like it had been knocked past him, which was a good sign after the Heybridge defensive disaster (soft goals conceded aside)

As for the Dons, as expected, great support, both in numbers and vocal support, at least whilst they were level or ahead, but mind you, I guess they're not used to being behind in matches!

Thought they looked OK. Nothin special, mid-table Ryman side at a push from tonight's performance. Looked very vulnerable under pressure and interesting to note the decline of Howard since he left. Can't remember him being bossed around like that when he was with us. Seedel crucified him almost every time he got near him.

Superb second half performance though. Came at them straight away (no, not like that Dominic) and never let up for the opening 20 minutes of the second half. Great stuff. Keep it up boys.

What a difference Wilko makes as well, great to have him back in the side. Might not be the most technically gifted player, but by god, he puts some work in.

Onwards and upwards boys. Let's cheer them onto victory on Saturday at the Fleet, especially if they don't appear to be playing well. That's when our support should be loudest. No pressure on us, so let's make sure the lads who are on the pitch representing us know how much we think of their fantastic achievements so far this season.

Brillant second half, where we really took the mickey..even Steve Daley was doing some fancy footwork.

I don't think the cold/Arsenal on the tv helped, but personally i think there was around 700 there.

Fair play to AFC for turning up in numbers - looking forward to playing them next season.

Who cares about the League cup? Well, i do now we are in the semis.

Let's hope we can play like tonight at Gravesend.

ps ok david, for your train info-tainment , i had to go to victoria, tube to waterloo via jubliee line.

happy now!

I would like to know what was said at half time so that it could be repeated. We were a different side in the second half attacking constantly and full of confidence. It seems to me that AFC have understandably opted for being strong up front as their way to get through divisions but they did not really seem able to defend when under pressure. But with their level of support you can be certain that if we do play them next season they will be a much stronger outfit.

Credit must go to all the boys for the second half performance when we gave them a bit of a lesson.

Well done to the Rebels, roll on Saturday.

On reflection whilst Seedel had a stormer I think Josy will just have to pip him for MOTM what with his two goals and winning the penalty.

Oddly enough, I said to Eddie did he give him the hairdryer treatment at half time, and he didn't think it was required. He thought we were unlucky to be behind in the first half, so I guess it goes to show how people can view the game differently.

Seedel MOTM by a country mile for me.

Proud of the Rebels tonight...did not roll over and die ! with possibly one eye on the FA trophy match...they would have been fogiven if they had...but no they played some real good football and at moments looked to be back to their best !

A player missed that was outstanding apart from a great team effort...Micheal Murphy ...outstanding considering he was playing out of position..tackled and back up players ! my MOM !

well done Slough....a team really to be proud of !

up the rebels...

was amazed to hear the results last night.. had marcus call me at half time and full time with updates from gary (cheers thomas) and spent all evening celebrating after hearing the result!

am so proud of the boys, sounds like we simply were unlucky in the first half and were unstoppable in the second...eddie must have used some seriously strong words in the half time talk and good on him!

am sure alex will have seen the result and been incredibly prou of us too.

UP THE REBELS!

see you all on saturday

well done to the rebels a very good performance, i felt that we dominated the oplay in the first half bar the defensive errors for the goals, and we kept our heads up, not an easy thing to do. great work by the team especially in the second half, could easily have had more goals

seedel or carbon get my motm, seedel for his goal and great holding play, carbon for his goals and for giving it everything

lets hope we play like that on saturday!

Taken from the AFC Wimbledon match report;

"If any fans were under any illusions about the task ahead next season, mid-ranking but highly impressive Slough provided an object lesson in the pace and power the Dons can expect to encounter on a regular basis in the Ryman Premier. There’s no shame in being undone by a better side, but Dave Anderson and his team will be bitterly disappointed at letting a two-goal slip, no matter who the opposition."

Sounds like they were quite impressed by our performance as well. Very good and fair report with just the one noticeable mistake stating Daly was booked when it was actually Seedel.

Agree that 2-0 was a bit harsh but still there was a stark contrast between the performances in each half. Looked a confident and very dangerous team in the second half.
