And you don't help yourself either - if you actually read Woody's post he is referring to two weeks time when Slough vs Windsor clashes with Chelsea vs Barcelona. Is that clear enough?

Blimey, I stood up for Woody. The snow must have made me ill in the head.

You are ill informed.

Abramovich has in fact bailed Chelsea out of the much worse position they were in and cleared the huge debt we had.If it were not for his stepping in we could already have gone to the wall.

We are on the brink of signing two very lucrative sponsorship deals with Orange and one of the kit manufaturers (why else pay Umbro £25 mill to get out of a contract).

Abramovich is taking a gamble just like any business man,but by investing in star players he is ensuring Chelseas participation in the Champions League, which whether we like it or not is the pre-cursor for a European super League which cannot be more than 5 to ten years away. Additionally to say that Arsenal are in a much better position is quite wrong as they are struggling to fund their new stadium, and as for Man U, they could find themselves in the hands of an American asset stripper any day now.

Oh dear, I feel like I'm repeating Ian but here goes.

Mr Isgood, Ian was not saying that Abramowhatsit hasn't bailed Chelsea out. However, if he was to walk away now he would leave Chelsea in an even worse position than when he took over. That isn't to say that he will but it could happen.

Good grief! Yes I know that, and I have addressed that comment. What I do not get is what point are you trying to make? Why is he more likely to go than any other Chairman? If you are going to use that argument why not throw in the possibility that he may die of a heart attack in his sleep tonight! What you all need to say is that you "HOPE" he walks away! If he does I will be like the AFC Wimbledon fans tonight, supprting my club whatever happens!

My point is that the money at Man U especially will be there whether the chairman is there or not, the fact that they are the richest club in the world still endorses this. If that list was compiled by the amount of money held by the person running the club, Chelsea would probably be ahead of Man U. Abramowhatsit came into England as an unknown quantity in a football capacity and some people, myself included, are still not sure what his long term intentions are. If he did do the dirty on Chelsea he takes all his money with him, leaving the club with some money which they will have brought in through extra sponsorship but nowehere near as much as he could have supplied. With the many quality players Chelsea have being paid large amounts of money it would therefore be difficult for Chelsea to cope with the loss of cash.

Finally I'd like to point out that I have no complaints about how well Chelsea are doing and how they have got their money. Success in football is what fans want and they will take it whichever way it comes which is fair enough. Personally, as a part time Man U fan (2nd team to Slough) I would much prefer to see Chelsea win stuff to Arsenal so good luck.

Just out of interest, has anyone seen the Slough forum, I appear to have lost it!!!!!

As long as you're happy that the one person who owns the entirety of your club, and who could ask for repayment of the money he's invested at any time, will never leave you in the lurch then I'm comfortable with that. I'm a Slough fan and if the inevitable happens, why should I care?!

You may think I'm ill informed and that's fine if that's your view. I think, however, you are being naive to the extreme if you cannot see the writing on the wall for any team (at any level) which places their trust and financial affairs in the hands of one person. Like I say, I'm a Slough fan so what do I care?!

One last post on this then I'll stick to Rebels talk.

We have been under one mans control for over twenty years and Old Captain Birdseye, whilst initially a saviour to the club eventually took us to the brink of banhruptcy. Yes, i agee it can be a dangerous position to be in, but as I asked someone earlier what do you suggest I, or any Chelsea fan do? Stop supporting the club I've followed since I was 8 years old!?

Also I repeat that I cannot understand why those outside of Chelsea (though I suspect it is a wish on their part) keep suggesting Abramovich will one day just get up and walk out....why would he?

If it happens, it happens but the half empty, as opposed to half full view that you hold is indicative of the negative minded approach to life of the British public that is turning this counrty to rat pooh! (little bit of politics there). In the mean time I shall continue to enjoy watching some of the best footballers in Europe, and after 36 years of waiting hope to see us lift the title, if we falter I shall be there agian next year come what may....as a Slough fan you must at least appreciate that!?

Right soap box away...UP THE REBELS!
