Roger,

It's nice to know that non Chelsea fans follow our clubs progress so closely. This is understandable I suppose as we are quite obviously becoming the biggest club in England, and will, over the coming years, be looking to over turn the dominance of Italian and Spanish clubs in the Champions League. It is with some regret that at the age of 44 I have to concede that the once revered F.A. Cup is now a secondary competition best left for the smaller clubs such as Tottenham and Bolton to fight over whilst we concentrate on bigger things. Most Chelsea fans never realistically hoped for a quadruple, or even a treble or double. We want only one trophy this year and that is the League Title. The game with Barcelona tomorrow is a nice aside, and will be an enjoyable game to watch between two major clubs, but win or lose one thing is certain, Chelsea fans will still stand up and be counted, for unlike the fans of Arsenal and Man U we support the club, and not the trophy cabinet.

UP THE REBELS, and remember this Slough always has been, and always will be a CHELSEA TOWN!

I agree, in view of the fact that Arsenal recently had a whole team and subs bench of imported "bought" players and that Man U paid £30 million for Ferdinand and a similar sum for Rooney, where as Chelsea have only paid one huge amount for Drogba (24 million).... and that the Man U team is almost entirely bought players. It is only small minded followers of under achieving clubs that believe a club can have success with entirely home grown players... that hasnt happend since Celtic won the European Cup in 67!

Come on Roger if a multi millionaire bought STFC and invested millions so we got successive promotion to the league would you say "Oh no that's not what I want, I want to stay in a ground we dont own in the wrong town"

Sue, with all due respect talking about Drogba as one huge amount is a little misleading don't you think? Veron, Mutu, Crespo, Makelele, Duff and Carvalho all cost £15m or more and then you're talking more than £10m for Ferreira, Parker, Tiago and Robben. If you class a huge amount as £20m+ then fair enough, but the combined transfer fees of all of those players comes in at something astronomical.

This as got nothing to do with Arsenal or Man U.This is about all the Chelsea fans who thought they could win it all. You are right Slough is a Chelsea town, where i work we have more Chelsea fans than any other, now its we cant lose a 9 point lead can we?

Sue, Man U have the most non-bought players in their squad of any of the three, the Nevilles, Scholes, Brown, Giggs, O'Shea.

Whereas I can only think of Cole at Arsenal and Terry at Chelsea.

Anyway what's this got to do with football! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Man Utd's treble team had a few home grown players...

Beckham, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs. add to that paul Scholes, Phil Neville and Wes brown who didn't play and perhaps a few more...

Chelsea have John Terry all the rest they brought!

Same old argument from bitter Spurs and Arsenal and Man U fans.

Key players in Uniteds recent dominance of domestic football... Schmeical, Bruce, Palister, Keene, Cantona, Hughes, Cole, Yorke, Van Nistelroy, Veron(!), Ronaldo,.....all bought!

The point we are making as Chelsea fans is that to criticise us for "buying" success is pointless. You can not have success without buying top quality players. I would love Chelsea to win the title with 11 youth team graduates but that is never going to happen!

As for Chelsea fans claiming we were going to win it all, all I would suggest is that any Chelsea fan you heard saying that is not a true Blue. One thing of which Chelsea fans can be certain is that NOTHING is certain with Chelsea.

As for our supporters coming out of the woodwork well I'm afraid Tottenham fans cornered that market years ago!

Simple question............SO WHAT?

Should I stop supporting the club I've followed for 38 years then?

The green eyed monster has got a hold of you mate, let it go before you get really bitter and twisted!

Slough always looks lke a town of whoever is in the ascendancy. I remember when it looked like a 'Leeds' town in the early 70's and a 'Liverpool' town in the late 70's People crawl out and don the shirt when their side is doing well. And because they are sucessful everybody hates them. Remember Man U 'everybody's second favorite team' When they were not winning anything they were.

Then everyone hated them for being successful.

Differance with Chelsea is even when they were rubbish for decades, sane people still laughed. Now they are successful it's much easier for Chelsea fans to claim jealousy.

No.

We always laughed Chelsea.

Success or failure, farmer Bates, or Roman's Fantasy,30 bob for a fight in the North Stand , or 2 grand for a season ticket, Didier Drogba or Tommy Langley.

Chelsea are just a laughable proposition.

Always have been, always will be.

Nothing, not money or success is going to change that!

What a load of ill informed nonsense!

Only a fool would deny that Chelsea are the most supported club in Slough and the surrounding areas. Arsenal being second. As a child at school in wexham in 1969-71, and then Langley 71-77 some 75% of boys followed Chelsea. Ask anyone that was at Wembley in 73 and they would have to admit that blue and white colours almost outnumbered blue and amber ones! It is down to proximaty to Stamford Bridge and the large migration of people from West London around the war years.

Certainly it was not a Leeds town in the 70s (although I do remember one leeds fan at school). The only reason for a larger than normal percentage of Liverpool fans in the 80s and now Man U fans is the influx of foreigners who do not appreciate geography or have a family connection with London etc.

I suspect you are a spurs fan and as such your jealousy of Chelsea is understandable, but ultimately it is pointless to continue in a battle of wits with someone who is so clearly unarmed!
