Ben Surey

Seems Ben Surey will have to proove his worth to Liam Daish. Not involved against Carlisle or Tamworth. I think we all know he has the quality, but with Steve Mckimm and Jay Saunders playing superb in the centre of midfield, and Andy Drury and Matt Lovell playing well on the wings, does anyone think his chances of first team football are limited?

Ben is one of our most creative players when fit,and it would be a shame if he didn`t get his chance.

Remember he was an England squad player not so long ago.Perhaps we could try a five man midfield

with Manny up front on his own.All the midfield players are capable of scoring goals, even Macca

sometimes!

Since when did Macca or Ben Surey show any evidence that they are capable of scoring goals?

Personally I would like to see Saunders and Surey in the middle or Saunders and Drury but since Macca is captain I can't see him being dropped.

Every player in a team hasd the capability to score goals, even the keeper! LOOK AT BRAD FRIEDEL!

As for the middle, Saunders and McKimm do a great job in there at the moment, and I'd rather see Jukebox making headway down the wing. As for the other flank, Ben Surey should be in there ahead of Matt the Prat any time!

While it's undoubtedly a shame that Ben hasn't featured so far under Liam, I think you're letting your long-standing resentment of Mr Lovell get in the way of a reasoned judgement. I've not always been his biggest fan either, but I recognize that he has looked an improved player in the last couple of games, with a superb goal at Carlisle to boot. Still not the finished article by any means, and he's still got work to do to prove he deserves a place in the team ahead of Surey, but there is potential there.

Both Maccas and Saunders have been so solid lately that I feel they're currently our best combination in the middle. Surey is talented but is still young and imo is still learning his trade. He will get another run in the team before now and the end of the season though I'm sure, and he hopefully he can stake a good claim.

So would we - let us know when he's managed it.

Very funny FF. Daish said that he was impressed by both wingers and the service they provided on saturday. Still think Surey has shown better quality than lovell in the past though!

And yes Essandoh did play a lot better on saturday, maybe Daish's style of play suits him, he was getting ther service he wanted, wasn't he?
