Paying the Penalties

Was talking to JL yesterday and he mentioned that we seem to have conceded a lot of penalties this season... I've had a quick totting up session (not to be confused with a totty session <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ) and I make it that we have given away 8 penalties this season in all competitions, of which 2 have been saved (Goths vs Exeter and Wayman's vs Manor in the EFC). Perhaps more worryingly we seem to have been making a habit of it just recently, giving away 5 pens in our last 9 games.

 

For the record we've scored 7 goals from pens this season (Hockers 2, Brayley 1, Stowe 1, Hunter 3). Can't remember us missing any yet either...

 

Interestingly none of the pens we've given away have resulted in a red card, whilst only the two Leyton players have seen red against us (Braintree did have a player sent off for protesting the decision). I think most people would agree that Goths was fortunate not to see red on saturday though.

Simon yes he was if you remember you were standing next to me at the time. The player in question was Gavin McGowan ex-moany [censored] (who cant take a little bit of being stuck into by properish players) and Luton, where McGowan played well over 100 games he told the ref in no uncertain terms what he thought of the decision. Didn’t hear it myself but whilist going off did he throw some rural area abuse towards those in the cowshed, erm being a Cheatree player interesting opinion to have

Cant say weren’t their; before I get you not a proper Ive supported the blues since I was 6 and the only reason I wasn’t at Cressing Road was that Im currently in the 1st year of a BA History degree at Leicester uni and despite my current lack of funds I managed to fund the money to go to BOTH Exeter games and will be going to the City game on 1st of March (only see Essex derbies against towns people outside of Essex have heard of you see)

 

As for cheating I seem to remember youre players trying to do their best to get 5 players sent off to get an FAC cup rematch when we spanked you group of thugs off the pitch 4-0 with 4 of them back in the dressing room before the end, would have loved to have seen the refs report on that game

Sorry to meander off thread here folks, but I'm curious. Y'see I keep seeing the word "censored" appear in brackets a lot recently and wondered if certain words are automatically "bleeped" somewhere in cyberspace for us or if we have a particularly touchy moderator at the mo doing it manually. I'm sure [censored] would be bleeped and definitely [censored] too, but what about [censored] and [censored] ? I think I've seen bloody on here, but wonder if older milder swearwords such as damn, blast and fiddlesticks are acceptable here now? What other words have you folks tried on here? PS: Have we ever signed anyone who's played for Scunthorpe United in their career ???!!! <img src="/forum/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
