We were really unlucky today. Hereford scored a good goal but didn't really dominate. We had alot of possesion, looked strong in defence and but for a bit more luck might have got a point.

 

First half was fairly even. We looked solid in defence and played some good football. Lee hooked an effort into the side netting and Mints had an effort but Hereford scored just before half time after a spell of pressure. Danny made a great save after the forward broke through but from the resulting corner the ball was half cleared to Danny Williams who scored with a fine strike.

 

I think we all expected the floodgates to open but we continued to play good football and at times looked really dangerous.

 

The start of the second half was near perfect. Lee Boylan burst on to a through ball. He did everything right but his shot struck the crossbar and bounced over.

 

The game was beginning to open up and Mario, Mints and Sedgemore were starting to find space. Lee saw a header deflected inches wide and fired an effort over as we battled and gave it a real go.

 

Hereford though did look dangerous on the counter attack. a deflected effort was turned over by Danny and a header hit the outside of the post but they couldn't kill us off.

 

Steve Burton came on with five minutes left and looked useful. By then it was too late and despite a spirited finish it was not quite enough.

 

With out a shadow of a doubt this was the best away performance in a long while. The defence was strong. Theo and Wardy won everything in the air and made some great interceptions. Macca was outstanding at the back constantly urging and giving encouragement to the team and even encouraging the Yellow Army to get behind the team.

 

Thought Mints looked off the pace but once again Mario had a great game. He looked busy in the midfield and started some of our best moves. Lee was so unlucky not to get on the scoresheet and a special mention to JK who had one of his best games in ages.

 

Plenty of passion, plenty of heart. Despite defeat this was a spirited display that encouraged the supporters that maybe better times are ahead.

Thought u played ok today maybe if honest deserved a point.We did not match the performances of Aldershit or Barnet but gratefully take all 3 points.

Top marks 4 your keeper Potter had us in stitches at Meadow end,nice to c a keeper with sense of humour.Good luck 4 rest of season.

Echo my friends thoughts there ,nice to see a lunatic keeper doing his thing in front of the Meadow end smashing.

For me the match was pretty poor entertainment wise ,but the result was all that counts ,that boylan lad looked red hot ,shame he was on his own though,apart from him you never looked like scoring if we had had 7 players you still wouldn't have scored.its a good job theres farny and leigh and fgr or you will go down,is this the same team that won promo by 19 points.not wishing to take the p .you stalled us and that is something for you to build on.

lousy flat atmosphere today ,well dun to your 48 much more than i thought would turn up.

the buzy bees lost again there bubble has finally burst.

he was pulling one of our players shorts down whilst a corner was being taken,the ref was about to book him .

Our player went over to the ref and stopped him,don't the refs have any sense of humour.

Your keeper was top class entertainment. Not only did he tug our forwards shorts down he superbly controlled an appaling chest high back pass and cleared despite the pressure from one of our forwards. At the end of the game he turned and clapped the Hereford fans who had been playfully teasing him until then. It was a nice gesture and he received a big round of applause for it. He looked an half-decent keeper to! F

yeah we do have a worse away record than leigh at the moment but at the end of the day we are 7 points off of relegation with a game in hand and if we play like we did yesterday then we will have know worries. arent you the team that are two leagues lower than leigh RMI???.

 

Danny does seem to have good reports from the home teams doesnt he. Its always good when a keeper has a good sense of humour. just aslong as he keeps up his usual good standard.

May 25th I believe is the release date. Hear a rumour they are suppose to be playing the V festival this August.

They're a "strong rumour" for V by the way, makes sense really seeing as they're touring.
