sorry i'll shut up now but the crowd was a record for the season 67 - 68 i believe. the only point i wanted to make was a crowd of 55000 was the usual before premiership seating and pricing changed the game into an upmarket type business

my next game was a mid week game against chelsea over 52000 which i believe was a record for the season so to watch a game with less than this number and everybody sitting down without a drink made the games less interesting as a fan for me.

 

That is why i went back to slough town to get the feel of real football until i moved to hayes

i remember a milk cup game v liverpool at highbury around 1988,there was 54,and some thing,its only since early 90's clubs have been limited(apart from yanited & the geordies)
