I think we are all getting things slightly out of proportion here. As the anon from heybridge says,so we lost a game. I excpect we'll lose some more before the end of the season, but overall the fact that we are still playing is no small miracle. We are playing at a higher level than last season and I don't think we should have any illusions about having a divine right to finish at the top. To finish this season and to start next season (in the same league) will suit me fine. Yes we should have ambitions, but they need to be realistic and we can't live in the past. Overall I think its been a good season and people getting their knickers in a twist over one (or two) games isn't really worth worrying about. I'll get down off my soap box now.

Wandering off a theme, HOW? I shall try and use short words so you can fully comprehend! Right:

1) It was a COMPARISON showing how two teams can decline from their past glory years (Yes we are not up to the 'standard' we were but then with no ground no financial support and pathetic moaners (this thread being a case in point) I agree with ARAAS that just to keep playing is a result...

2) The only mirror i look in is my own, cos as you can see im gorgeous

3) Books..... Aww, Do you want my MENSA id number?

4) Trying to question someone's lack of intelligence because they take a stance different to yours merely shows a total lack of intellect and persuasive skills.

5) And most importantly- what does this prove? Fair play to your relatives, I am sure you are very proud- I would be too- But you cannot compare todays team to a glory-time history from many years ago.

I have no grouse with you-but why is it you all miss the point-he was trying to show us how clever he did at university( assuming he was telling the truth) yet he came unstuck trying to throw that at me-a B.A is only the bottom rung.Goodnight.

Come on Guys,

This is now starting to get personal and beyond banter. We are all very disappointed at the moment and saddened by the situation in which the club finds itself. There already too many factions and interest groups associated with the club pulling in different directions. No-one can doubt that the posters on here all want to see the club back up amongst the non-league elite, even with their extremely different views, but we do need to be trying to identify ways we can all cooperate to make that possible - let's concentrate on what binds us rather than divides.

We all saw what Alex had to say in his post about the fans at Slough and I am sure his sentiments were genuine - let's prove him right, even if there may be one or two family disagreements along the way. We are already staring into an abyss that I for one don't like the look of, and it is going to need the help of everybody with the club's interests at heart to make sure we don't fall into it.

Andrew

"O" level in diplomacy! ("O" level? - all those who know what it means show how old they are!)

I was gpoing to write something amusing but i don't think I can be bothered, at the end of the day surely all we have to do is get behind the club through everything that has been thrown at us. "Sad sod" good use of alliteration, wasted not trying to become a poet. Also know that BA is indeed a bottom rung degree, thus including the PGCE, MA and Mensa qualifications, But who really cares? Surely this is about trying to the best we can for the current team, who have been abandoned by the council through no fault of their own and are doing a damn good job this season.

Marcus I would be very proud to have a BA beside my name, you are doing a great job and as everyone knows a teachers job is not easy. Take no notice and you are right we are all behind our team and that is the main thing.

See you tomorrow night, weather permitting,

Sue

The club and teh trsut have said for a long time, if we're going to achieve anything, we all need to be fighting the same fight and pushing the club in the same direction. Let's just remember that. The club is bigger than any one individual (BFR aside, as he's quite big) and must grow stronger.

At the end of the day, we all follow Slough Town Football Club to see them do well. We're not going to help the club achieve that by arguing in amongst ourselves, are we?

The Wembley team had a lot of internationals who followed their manager to STFC from Enfield, considering that that team was arguably the best in amateur football, I put it to you that they (not the present team) under performed, having said that, I have a lot of respect for both.

Aidan.
