Leave the lady alone, you guys who do not want anon opionions, why not start your own little site that only contains your own thoughts,if slough were poor today, then they were poor. This site used to be very good a few years back when people would say what they wanted, now you have a very small band of regular thoughts.Slough can be very good but then we can be poor, why not accept this.

That situation is not created by the regular posters, it's created by those that either read the forum and don't contribute or who do so, often with inflammatory statements, under an anonymous name. Regular contributors cannot make others join in and deliberately provocative statements will always get a negative reaction.

Tara has posted on here before so doesn't fall into the 'anon' category although I do think her comments were based on seeing a single result rather than an assessment of watching us and how we've performed throughout this season.

Or perhaps people should just put their name against their post?! It's not difficult, it's courteous and it adds credibility to what people say.

Anon posts are invariably done so because people either want to behave like children and stir things up or actually don't have sufficient self belief to put a name to their comments.

so you get beaten 5-2 away by an in form team. So what? You played OK football for a lot of the time and ony got overrun in the last half hour. It happens. We got thumped 5-2 by our arch rivals Chelmsford last month and it hurt but we played ok much of the game. Youll probably finish in the top 3rd, just outside the playoffs like us. Considering al your off field problems and your good cup runs this season I'd say that was an OK season. See you next month when you have a chance to even things up.

tara, we should all just be happy that the club still exists, chances are if it wasnt for everyone at the club we could have been run into the ground, and even now that could still happen. you just have to make the most of it all, win or lose.

Yes love and England won the world cup in 1966 but i dont hold that against the current team... get a grip woman!

Well it appears you are not very bright-because you're wandering off a theme-what the hell has winning the world cup got to do with anything that I've been discussing-instead of looking in a mirror all the time, start reading some books.though i would expect it's a bit late for you now.If you have nothing sensible to contribute please don't bother me again-thank you.

what hes saying is that just because the quality of the footy has slipped a bit doesnt mean we should start to moan about it, and comparing that to the similar decline of the england team

just be glad that slough town fc still exists!

Wandering off a theme, HOW? I shall try and use short words so you can fully comprehend! Right:

1) It was a COMPARISON showing how two teams can decline from their past glory years (Yes we are not up to the 'standard' we were but then with no ground no financial support and pathetic moaners (this thread being a case in point) I agree with ARAAS that just to keep playing is a result...

2) The only mirror i look in is my own, cos as you can see im gorgeous

3) Books..... Aww, Do you want my MENSA id number?

4) Trying to question someone's lack of intelligence because they take a stance different to yours merely shows a total lack of intellect and persuasive skills.

5) And most importantly- what does this prove? Fair play to your relatives, I am sure you are very proud- I would be too- But you cannot compare todays team to a glory-time history from many years ago.

Thank you,

Goodnight

Tara if you cant see what Marcus is getting at, and we can, who do you think is not very bright!

Were you at yesterdays game?

How many league games this season have you been too?

I suspect Marcus has a better Idear of how the team are playing than you then!

What books do you read - Barbara Cartland!

Deli, I think the vast majority of the posters on here are quite happy to have a debate with people like yourself and Tara who put names to their posts. But just because you have an opinion the rest of us do not have to agree with you.

I and many others agree with you that we can be inconsistant. We can be excellent (Eastleigh away anyone) and we can be shocking like yesterday. It was only a few weeks ago that we ripped Eastleigh to shreds. We have not become a bad team.

In my view the main difference between the pros and the semi-pros is the level of consistency in their performance. We cannot expect them to be brilliant every week - although we are obviously disappointed when the performance slips.

But other teams at this level have had the same problem - Eastleigh have recovered from their setback against us, it was only a few weeks since Heybridge got done by 5, Dover scored four yesterday and we beat Braintree three nil at home.

The thing I disagree the most with Tara about is her tone she has called this thread "all over" and descibed the team as a shower.

I am very proud of this team their achievements this season have been nothing short of sensational. The Walsall game was without doubt the highlight of my football supporting life.

The season is far from over we still have the Trophy and the Bryco and I personally believe we will finish mid-table. At the end of the season we will be able to look back on another fine year.

When this team plays to its full potential it is the best footballing side I have seen for Slough since the Conference days - easily. I am fairly convinced it would give the 97/98 side a good game which just goes to show you how the standards at this level of football have improved.

I am one of the loudest critics of the team when things go badly, but for christ sake cheer up, face facts (we are having a good season in a tough division) and support the team.

slough town will survive, with or without your thoughts, supporters of all teams can be fickle, one week your team is brilliant, the next they can be poor.If Tara has an opinion on how we performed yesterday i am sure that in her own way thats is how it seemed.Me ithink we can play, but since the walsall game we have been up and down, that is football.I think that you should audit your site and see just how many people use or post on it.me i think the more the better.what do people think about our gates just recently,is it me or are they down,if so why is this.
