Northfleet Stand SHUT

Why all this fuss about your stand being closed?

Do you really needs four stand when you could all fit in one?

I've been speaking to a Fleet fan at work and even he said that more people use the car wash at the back of your ground than stand in that end.

After reading you posts, obviously what you think, and what you know are two different things.

We fill a lot more of our stadium capacity than you lot do.

If your capacity of your stadium is 4,000 and your average crowds are around the 1,000 mark then only 25% of your capacity is in use. I think our percentage is considerable more than that. More like 70%. Our lowest crowds would still double your capacity.

But as has already been asked by Alan W, is Saturday's game likely to be segregated anyway, given that it is a Trophy game against lower-league opposition?

I think you will find that when the Fire Brigade close a stand on safety grounds, they then alter the capacity for the ground,I am informed that this was done and our capacity has been reduced to 3,300 for the safety certificate.

So, now we have two conflicting stories on the matter. Has the capacity really been reduced by the stand closure or not?

What I meant was that Peter W's claim that the capacity is down to 3,300 with the closure of that terrace is in contradiction to what David Holden said earlier on the matter:

"Because the limiting factor is not the terracing but the speed at which we can empty the ground in an emergency. The Closure of the terracing has not restricted any of the exits, so the capacity remains broadly the same."

I'm going to explain it based on how I've interpreted it.
Stonebridge Road, in essence, can actually accomodate more than 4,098.

The reason WHY the official capacity is currently 4,098 is based on how quickly people could be evacuated in the event of an emergency. In other words, a few more emergency exits / safety barriers and we would have a higher capacity.

Therefore, despite one stand being closed, we still have our exits, so the offical capacity is not likely to be altered by much, if any.
